Yeah man it's so fun to play a mode where you can't do any objectives or towers unless you decide. I love a map that so small with timers so low that basically enemies can come start respawn and stream into this boring long drawn out fight that never accomplishes anything. I love pushing a lane and getting two hits on the enemy tower before the entire enemy team has rotated for the complete opposite side of the map to stop me. It's so fun playing arena with a fake half-hearted pretend attempt at laning. I love that the entire game mode completely removed all early game gods from relevancy with it's insane level of gold spooling. It's so fun having to split 3 buffs between 10 people. You mean his Ult? Its still outclassed by Hou Yi's, whose Ult provides more damage and can just overall box a lot better. A mesmerize that's broken upon hit isn't much, but the slow and cripple and 1s stun if you have it are still good if you manage to get people within it, but the scaling is still pretty poor and I think Hou Yi's is just better. Plus, you could just put an Ares on your team if you want to cripple people. They'll still buy purification regardless.

Ok, so it's outclassed by what people consider the best hunter right now... doesn't make cupid a less viable choice. You can have more than one god with CC, they'd have to choose to use beads between cupid ult or ares ult if they're both on the team. Saying cupid isn't viable because hou yi is better is like saying that mercury isn't viable because ratatoskr is better.. it's better to use the gods you're good with than be forced to play a god you don't understand as well

I am a Diamond Cupid, and yes, I agree that one God being better doesn't remove their utility or usefulness, but unless you invest a huge amount of time and effort into perfecting their kit, you will get beaten by ultimately superior God's or God's that do outright counter yours. Cupid is pushed in by almost every other ADC because of his lane clear, he cannot even box well early game because his only form of CC takes 8 basics for it to work. His heals are weak and aside from early game sustain they're not much of an ability. There is no reason to pick Cupid when almost all other hunters are simply better than him and one of them doing his ult's job better than he does. If you want the crippling effect of Cupid's Ult, you just pick Ares and have a more viable hunter instead. People will still pick purification regardless if they face a Cupid or Ares

I feel like warriors who do a lot of basic boxing don't really use lifesteal too often, relying instead on their tankiness and sometimes their built-in heal.

Ravana's the easiest example, and bellona might opt to switch to her scourge although her shield is equally useful for boxing. Erlang uses Death's Toll early for that double proc on every hit but beyond that he's more likely to use his turtle's shield and ultimate's heal than lifesteal.

You ought to play conquest a bit though. If you're new, then everyone else should be in the same boat, and it's better to learn it when everyone else is also learning as opposed to being level 30 and being dumped into a group of people who will be annoyed that someone has no clue what they're doing.

With that said, if you're playing clash and siege, generally speaking buying a starter isn't something you do unless you've got a particular strategy in mind.
