It works better with Requiem. It's still hard to make proper use of it with regular DRXD sadly.
You can only substitute 1 Xyz material with 1 card from your hand. Not both.
Meaning that you will still have to detach 1 material and then banish one card from your hand. Leaving your DRXD with just 1 material left if it had two initially. Which isn't enough for it to use the effect again.

It does however provide Requiem with one extra negate each turn since Requiem has no OPT restrictions either. And if you summon DRXD using Launch, you can use DRXD twice in a row if you also have a PK in your hand.

How is he overrated? I've actually read the manga and the difference in quality between that and all the other manga/anime of the spinoff is astounding. Kaz knows how to plot a good story with successive arcs that build upon each other and can emphasize the themes he wishes to express effectively. He can write great characters that constantly develop throughout the story and stay consistent.

Before the card games started he had tons of varied games that added nice flavor to the lore of the story, taught good life lessons, and provided good worldbuilding by showing Yugi's world doesn't just revolve around Duel Monsters. He never intended to make the manga about Duel Monsters but that's the only way he could've made his manga popular so he decided to go with it and make the best out of it. He developed the Duel Monsters rules and infused them with tabletop RPG rules to make a unique gaming experience before he evolved them into the rules we are familiar with today. The way he writes duels relies less on blatant shilling as we see and effectively conveys the feelings of the duelist while incorporating wide and varied strategies. He designed thousands of monsters and keep in mind he did all of this shit on a weekly manga schedule which is insanely fucking hard to do. One man drew the art, wrote the story, and came up with the rules for a card game which very few people would be able to do. Yeah there are hiccups here and there and things that could have been better executed, but that's completely excusable when you're drawing a manga for 8 years and go out coughing up blood and getting high on drugs.

There is really no one who can equal him in writing a good YGO story from what I've seen. He really deserves all the praise he gets.

Gendo the Ascetic Monk. It negates all monster effects when its in Defense position. The protection in the deck allows it to stay alive and if you've managed to draw your key aquarium cards already the effect negation shouldn't hurt you too much.

So someone on Reddit opened the mega tins. According to them the major reprints were: Melody, Solemn Strike, TT, CDI, Majespecters, Kaijus, Dinomist, Fluffals, D/D, BLS, Gaia, Blackwings, Shiranui, Odd-Eyes fusion, Vortex, Rebellion, Clear Wing.

No apparent rarity bumps or lowered rarity, everything is the same rarity as it was in the original booster set so stuff like Strike and CDI are still secrets.

There's really nothing that new to be honest. Just BE will replace Monarchs but Kozmo and BA are still there. Maybe Metalfoes to replace Magicians and Performapals. But the banlist failed to completely wipe the current meta like it should have done.
