Assuming each sentence of text takes about two or thee minutes to translate, an entire team of 10 or so people could easily translate the entire thing in less than a week.

It's fucking 40 hours of story that they need to translate that also needs to go through extra checks to make sure that it's not faulty. Then you have the entire Library full of shit, then 3 Arcade Modes, and then extra stuff for other modes and winscreens. All of that needs to go through checks, and japanese isn't exactly a language that's easy to translate. Many things don't translate fully to english, so the translator has to take liberties at times but that also means asking for permission and shit.

Again, you're severely understimating how much it takes to translate these things. This goes double for franchises that aren't exactly super popular in the west so they don't have a massive workforce on it.

This, it's been up shit creek since Continuum Shift 2 and extend and with the rush job that was Chronophantasma's dub I can't blame them for giving up. Arc System Works said they would discuss the English dub in future development meetings so it is possible they will include it in the inevitable extend version and it will be better because the lines will already be in english. We should just give them more time to figure it out and give them more money by playing their games anyway.

The dubbing was never an issue until Strangely Compelling took over the localization job from Aksys once Arc System Works decided go cheap. When we had Aksys still involved we got the games two weeks to a month after the JP release with the dub. It's only when Strangelly Compelling took over is when localization process got messed up and we got longer delays for the games.

It eventually led to this result of the dub not being included because they need more time to implant it which they feel isn't worth the cost.

I am fully aware of the difficulties, time, and money that goes into localizing a game. But CT was released in the US less than a week after JP release.

That is a result of the voice direction, not the talent itself. Laura Bailey's voice for Sena in CS/CSE was essentially the same as her voice for Kid Trunks in the DBZ Funimation dub, and it felt pretty suitable. I agree the direction in CP was for the worst, but it is light years more tolerable than the grating nails on a chalkboard shit that is Luna's nip voice.

Because localization for japanese games is fucking notorious for not being a simple thing, hence why many things are frequently cut in other franchises during the transition from japanese to western release. It's not a smooth thing that'll always go the same. Releasing something on a national level and international are two entirely seperate things, something you fucking refuse to get through your skull and pretend like it's some cakewalk that'll always go smooth as hit.

I'm against dubfags because they're unironically treating not having additional content, ie, a dub, as cut content. The game is already getting translated and getting the same content as the JP version on top of that. A 1 month delayed release won't "stagger" the playerbase, as it's an incredibly short period and no major events really take place during that time that would've hosted BB otherwise in the US at the very least.

I'm defending this practice because it's literally only a 1 month delay, and it's far more preferable than the 6-8 month delay that we would've had otherwise. Do you think that they just decided to not include a dub to fuck with people?
