Mori designed Izanami and, from what I recall, is responsible for Mai's new design as well. Maifag, that's not an invitation.

And I think Nine may be his handiwork as well. Hi-no-Kagutsuchi certainly seems to be in line with his tastes.

Katou is the mastermind behind Makoto and Platinum. Mori did design Platinum's prototype version, but it was very different from what we have now and far more conservative.

I like the matches, it feels like a waste to play a Story Mode in a fighting game without actually getting to do any fighting. Xrd felt like a really big disappointment when I was sitting there waiting ot at least get to play out one of the fights. BB makes these things doubly exciting by making Unlimited characters as boss characters, which makes it more fun.

I loved it, made the big baddies feel like an actual challenge. I was complete shit at fighting games when I started Calamity Trigger, and playing against Unlimited Hakumen felt like something actually difficult, and beating him had some actual meaning. Same with Mu and Nu in CS and CP (and Nu in CT but for some reason I never had any difficulty with her there). Would take that anytime over just watching two characters go at eachother with no input from the player.

I'm glad someone else cares about the real issues at hand here. I don't playing fighting "games" for the shitty excuse for "gameplay" which boils down to memorizing QTE inputs and playing rock paper scissors with the opponent until you get to do your QTE and they have to watch. I play for the story, and not only does Blazblue have one of the greatest stories I've ever experienced, but the dub is top notch and the main reason I've continued to buy and support these games. I think over the years Arcsys has kinda given up on appealing to the mainstream console gamers in America.
