The problem is that there's absolutely no-build up or previously foreshadowed implications of it happening. It comes absolutely out of nowhere and is essentially at odds with the rest of the route. It's also heavily implied that she never loved you and was just using the protagonist to further her own career.

The 4-5 H scene thing is a more recent development. You won't really find it very often in pre-2010 moege titles.

It's not too bad. It works out sometimes, it's a complete disaster other times. Even companies like Favorite manage to make a disaster out of 2 H-scenes. Personally though I don't have an absolute need for H-scenes, I do want them and I do enjoy them. It's relationship simulation, after all.

Still, I would rather not have them at all if they're done so terribly. I think the key factor is the proper pacing and build-up to the first H-scene. And then properly spacing the rest of them out.

Well, the problem is more that their routes are more plot-focused than a lot of other moege developers, so if you want a good h-scene you're forced to put the ichaicha at a certain point in every route. For example, most of that in Mio's route was situated at the early part, so when they became a couple, there simply wasn't any time for stuff like dates. I generally didn't like any of the h-scenes in IroSeka except Shinku's 1. It came at the very end of the route so it never really felt out of place.
