Legion, so far, has more pre-expansion content and there has been more shit announced than Warlords could manage.

Warlords had a dungeon (which was just an early wod dungeon) and a dark portal pre-event.

Legion has early demon hunters, world events, world gear, story quests, the broken shore scenario, more story quests, and before legion they're adding more and more things, and fucking karazhan has been announced already for 7.1

Seriously, I wonder what the fuck happened during WoD, the huge hiccup compared to legion now.

I've done cutting edge raid progression in XIV also, it's still team fucking jump rope. If one person accidentally gets killed, even a fucking Dragoon then it's a wipe. Because even if you res him he has the 15%debuff and he dies to raid wide AoE. XIV Savage has such a small safety net that it's not even challenging, it's just stupid. The whole boss fight for all Ex-primals and Savage Midas is still telegraphed as fuck, so you just need to know when to fucking play Simon Says.

Which is the same for WoW raiding, even the "hardest" bosses Mythic Mannoroth and Mythic Gorefiend is still team jump rope, everyone has a job, fucking do that job or you wipe.

That reminds me of what I heard about from some EQ raids. Something about the standard healing setup for bosses was for like 5-6 healers to time their biggest heal to go off on the tank one right after the other or the tank would die.

I've raided in WoW since vanilla, and I've heard that the EQ raid encounters were a lot more unforgiving than WoW ever was. It's kinda crazy the stuff people will put themselves through to get better loot.

Heard Monks are great in Legion as healers and as damage.

I've dabbled as a MW monk in PvP since the pre-expac event. It's kinda weird to get used to, but it's a pretty nice mobile healer if you've got the right talents. You can toss out some really powerful HoTs and channel a weaker HoT while on the move, and then kick someone in the face with Rising Sun Kick and refresh this one self-buffing move that empowers your other healing abilities. It feels like Monks lack a huge burst heal at the moment, but I've only been playing MW for a little while.

They're pretty good at AoE healing too, but that drains your mana pool very quickly.

Well I don't know about everyone else but I've been doing it to level alts since I figured out it worked. My priest just sits in the XR inn while me and a friend take turns using our alts to give the leveling characters invasions.

You can even make new alts on the fly since invasions unlock at lv10.

Are we talking post-instancing EQ raiding or pre-instancing?

Pre-instance raiding amounted to sending your most geared tank to bring a boss to a corner and praying to god that your clerics didn't miss their spot on the Complete Heal chain (10s long cast that does exactly what you think). Your dps just had to be patient enough to let the tank hit a boss for ~3% of its hp, then hit two to three buttons for their cooldowns and autoattack. Other class healers were there to pick up health pools during aoe blasts and dispel people. If not, they were there to buff people with haste, stats, regen, and resist and that's it. Casters dumped their mana pool in two casts and went back to meditating for mana for the rest of the fight.

It was horribly simple. People back then were retarded and didn't understand the game. Now people go back to places like Project1999 and zerg bosses down in 20 seconds because there was no limit to how many people you could bring to a boss fight and everybody is aware that stacking tier 1 dps is the way to go.

Post instance raiding is where they actually started adding mechanics that required the capacity to think, but I never got a chance to see it all those years ago because I was a casual who just liked to explore zones. I've since gone back and killed bosses from the first two expansions with a group of friends and it was really a let down at how simple things were.

Why can't most of the windows be moved around without a mod that doesn't even permanently unlock the UI anyway.

Here's how we do it most of the time.
>leveling character sits on the bridge b/w org and N.barrens
>invasion toon invites and walks into the zone to activate the invasion
>leveling alt enters next to get the invasion and phase in (since they've changed the phase rules to stop realm hoppers
Once you're in the invasion toon can leave and leveling toon can invite more people to get them the invasions too.

Literally 1 person can give 4 other people a fresh invasion and then they can in turn give it to his leveling toon for 5 total.
