So I'm doing pretty shitty DPS as a WAR on Nidhogg ex (though I didn't get to kill him yet, most fucklords usually wipe at fang & claw or afterwards), it's at like 800. I'm especially not sure on my Berserk usage.
I usually use it at the beginning, for the add phase and for the fang & claw phase (no idea about the rest since I fucking rarely get there). Is there a better way to do this?

Witching Pomanders are not free "kill a pull of any size, effortlessly" cards unless you have a group that's capable of and willing to do a reasonably quick AoE burn and it's pretty much your own fault for just assuming that the group would step up for it rather than feeling the group out and knowing if they would or wouldn't be capable of it.

Easily upward of 80% of the wipes I've had in PotD were because of people overestimating what a Witching pom actually does and pulling twice what they should be given the group's composition and skill level.

Holy spam almost CAN be more effective than SMN AoE in PotD, because the enemies die fast enough that stun resistance will basically have barely even kicked in by the time they're almost dead.

That aside, though, you can't assume that people in PotD are going to be making any even halfway-sensible use of their skills and rotation. You can barely assume that people know what they're doing and how to AoE effectively when you do an Expert Roulette and they're on a class that they've had to play all the way from 1-60. That expectation just shouldn't even exist in PotD, where someone might not even have the class they're playing leveled, and might have only had their 50-60 skills for all of 10-15 minutes.

In that scenario, you should have been doing small AoE pulls without Pomanders to test the water and see what the party is actually capable of. You'll know pretty quickly, if you're paying attention, whether it's a party where it's worth trying to do bigger pulls, or if you're saving everybody time by just killing things one at a time the whole way through.
