Just smashed everything together, seems like they don't overwrite each other in any way. Now I am facing the problem of not being able to start a new game at all. In the beginning you see the whole story block which tells you what the world is all about right now and it gives the options "continue" which would send me to character creation and "go back" which returns to the main menu. The continue button simply isn't doing anything - it still reacts and gives a sound if you click it though.

TLD is pretty fun, though it has a slow start and a slow end. I can tell you it's not for everyone, but I like it.

Geko is good, but the lack of unity variety and maps/scenes can make it boring, sadly.

Rome fell because administration was becoming impossible, their treasuries were empty, public works were slowing down, and the army's upkeep was insane but without the army they'd be raided forever. This has a lot of smaller contributing factors of course, but treasury issues, administrative bs (a lot from the fact that a weird sort of proto-nationalism was showing up in that you belonged to your region and 'tribe' as well as to Rome, so when Rome started becoming weaker the regional feelings became stronger,) and court shit like Stilcho getting executed.

The Ming fell because populists literally cut taxes to almost 0 on the South, where a lot of them came from, but the North was too poor to really tax well, and then ofc bribery and corruption ate away what little was left. The Qing basically did anything because of successive wars, an obstructive council, and a completely empty treasury. Otherwise they'd have gotten BTFO, the Chinese were using landmines and grenades at that point.

Whats to stop me from just taking everything over one after another moving the soldiers as I go? I mean I did it once in base diplomacy, just saved up 1.5k troops as my own kingdom and made a wave across each kingdom, wiping them out 1 by 1 or catching them by a village and wiping them all out. Diplomacy gets boring... Its like I have to play with a handicap by not going all out because then it would be no fun.

You know how you can pay bandits to leave you alone? It's a useful feature in non-native mods, since bandits are usually buffed up to be more powerful.

In Swede Mayo, it basically becomes impossible to bribe bandits to leave you alone because most of them fall under the same group, and so if you defend yourself from some shitty looters, every other powerful bandit group will decide that you need to be raped.

How about instead of making the looters, Portuguese pirates, and almost every other Indochina bandit group fall under the same "outlaw" group, you either remove a shit feature or separate every bandit group so that Portuguese pirates don't reject your bribe because you defended yourself against looters or some other bandits in the far north-eastern corner of the map.

It's not fucking fun because Portuguese pirates have better armor and better weapons than my T1 and T2 troops. The only possible way to beat them at low levels is to have thrice the number of troops so you can watch your men stab at the enemy over and over despite it not working. In 1257 at least making your crossbows stand in 3-4 lines and having spearmen stand in a 3-row-deep dense block works very well with a bit of cav support.
Spearmen will brace for impact when standing still and basically do couched lance damage to horses they hit them and the fact they're so tight makes it impossible for them to be rammed through
Triple crossbow line makes them fire like a machinegun since the first line kneels

to add there's an actual distinction between formations in 1257 at least, where men with shields will go at the front in a shieldwall formation, while in ranks, wedge, and square the unit distribution is based on tier (ranks) or randomized (wedge & square)
advantage of square is that it's the same width and length, which means the formation won't go too far wide or too far deep
advantage of wedge is that it exposes more men to fight, it's an excellent formation for long reach troops against cavalry
also for shieldwall it's great to have pirates since they always spawn with a crossbow but are infantry, so you can have crossbowmen interspersed in your infantry formation which gives them some good ranged capability

There's this neato future in 1257 where you automatically gain relations with all lords you fight with on if your side wins the battle, instead of having to hunt them down. Are there any other mods that do this?

You can find the assets in the GekoNewer link in the OP. It is in the Other Files folder.
The mod doesn't work because I couldn't care enough about 1257AD to make it workbut the assets are all there.

Archer and Gilgamesh are in the "random chink assets" folder. They are not nearly as good quality as Saber though.
