He's pretty bad at the whole world building thing. When it comes to art he's REALLY FUCKING GOOD, but otherwise he'll be the Sakamoto of Rance/AS if he had any influence on the story or characters.

I think both Orion and Gyokai are doing a fine job both for main and remake Rance series so there is no need to replace them by someone from outside. But If Alicesoft is going to go all out with X and it's going to be a huge game I wouldn't mind seeing some parts of its art to be given to Gyokai and Min Nakaren instead putting all load on Orion. One of the bigger annoyances in Quest for me was the lack of full body sprites for many recruitable characters and I don't want to see such halfassed approach for X.

Somehow I have a feeling that TADA may retire after the main Rance series will be finished. He didn't expressed any interest in the remakes beyond 04 but he wasn't involved much into creation of 01 and 03 and the people who did most of the job may feel different and Rance remakes looks like a safe bet for titles that aren't going to flop in sales at very least. With enough will and if the company will manage to stay afloat long enough I don't see why they couldn't go all the way to Rance 010 somewhere in 15 - 20 years from now on.

It's one of those games where you can see the potential but it fails to meet it. I would still like a full release if only for the characters, but from what little is translated, they don't even use them very well. A good portion of the time, characters cease to be relevant once you recruit them, and for some, that really stands out. Yes since otherwise there would be something before KD who fucked Kamilla to produce children, including KD. They've never made of point of that in lore, and KD uprising the kingdom to become the leading dragon over another would be an interesting point to make.

It also conflicts with current canon about how the dragons came to rule in peace after defeating the Demon King. If KD came into power via usurping then someone else would have tried it, and might have been reason enough to keep Ludo entertained before they were completely wiped.

It's been a couple of years since I last played SR, but the main advice I remember was "Do as Rance would!" which was to attack as many countries as often as you can right?

Also, what was the best way to capture people? Light attack when they're low on health

You only need to hit them with light attack once, don't try and go through the pain of finishing them off with light attack it's unneeded.

The main idea is to not sit around in peacetime, if your army is decent you shouldn't have problems handling 2 different countries at once.
