I turn around to see if this soldier is far away from me to not melee me than keep on pressing w
he manages to somehow catch up to me, I am playing spy, it literally got a speed buff.

People are also able to literally spam the revolver and apparently not miss, and yes spamming does affect recoil. I can spam the revolver on a still target and all the shots wouldn't hit.

Pyros also seem to have higher range than me with their flamethrowers and the flamethrower even though I am clearly on their face and my crossshair is on their body doesn't do damage sometimes?

there's normally only 30-40 people playing at a time, but it's still pretty easy to get into a game.
It also has good netcode so playing with players across the atlantic isn't that much of an issue
I don't have enough experience with afps to comment on the mechanics too much but people say it has great movement and all that stuff.
