It's also good practice to abuse the little dead ends in hallways for small pulls.

You can pick, but you need to be on the job that you want the weapon for when you talk to the NPC. So you could do potd as a dragoon, get to 30/30, then when you're outside switch to scholar and talk to the NPC and you'll get a scholar book. The game will prompt you with yes/no pop ups

Yeah, maybe. I dunno though, I just find it reasonably entertaining as something you can do while you watch TV or listen to a podcast. I like the nonstandard party compositions, and unlike every other dungeon in the game, there are actually decent rewards for running it, between weapons for alts and the Grade V materia tokens.

I think at the moment there's some decent challenge to it, but only if you do it with fewer than four people and with no dedicated healers.

Duoing it is a light challenge that's not really "hard" but is more difficult than any of the game's existing dungeons. Soloing it is legitimately fairly tough and sometimes actually feels like a barebones roguelike.

I mean ordinarily, yeah, it would be really fucked up to put in some garbage content like that and make it so that it obsoletes top-tier raid gear, but the excessive rewards were enough that people were actually halfway enjoying themselves even though the actual content was such garbage, people were fucking desperate for something new to do, and Gordias had fucked the playerbase into the ground so hard that there was definitely nobody left going "The reason I'm not beating my head against A3S and A4S is because I can get 210 gear elsewhere".
