There's a guide in the pastebin about how it works. As to why no eating... this new method you make 12 different deliveries of coal, that triggers the maximum amounts of rewards at the final screen.

The old method involved eating for Felyne Explorer and mining the blue nodes for Timeworn Charms, but that takes about 1 minute extra to do. If everything goes right in the new method, you can do it in about 1 minute, so doubling the time to deliver the coals just to get 1~3 extra charms from the secret area isn't optimal (and this run is all about minmaxing time).

If you want actual explosions that are meaningful (aka not just blast element) then you want either rapid LBG with crag and clust or using a gunlance. Note that explosions are frowned upon in online if used improperly.

My main problem with MH "clones" is that none of the weapons are as satisfying to wield. In God Eater, there's the Buster set of weapons which are supposed to be the game's version of the Great Sword, but the weapon is missing that weighty feeling that you get in MH.

I like God Eater's system of exchanging mats for other mats as well as the ticket system actually working in a hunting/action game for once.

But yeah, I agree with you. The grind in the other games is not enjoyable. With God Eater, incremental upgrades on your weapons don't mean anything, and you're usually forced to upgrade your weapons every single time you reach a higher Difficulty level or else it's going to be a battle of attrition. And as I've mentioned in my previous post, the weapons just aren't satisfying to wield, with the exception of the scythe, so the game becomes twice as tedious.

At least with Freedom Wars, or at least my recollection of it, you'll see a noticeable difference in the strength of your weapons every time you upgrade them (even though as you've mentioned, the grind is even worse in that game).

Roman is short for "Romance", it's a word japs use to describe a playstyle in MonHun centered in using flashy attacks to interrupt monsters or make them drop from mid-air. It's called Roman more in the sense of "adventurous" or something like that.

It's more associated with Gunlance because this originated in 2nd gen and most people used Wyvern Fire to go Roman. They usually restrict themselves with things like "No flashbombs, no traps, only using your best attacks/WF to intercept monsters" and so on.

It's not entirely restricted to GL. If you ever knocked a Rath from their mid-air charge with a GS lvl3 or if you ever killed Brachy mid-air with IG's vault when it was jumping towards you, you practiced Roman unknowingly. But GL users are way more vocal about it.

All the webms of Apex dunking mons from the air are Roman and people don't even know, but that's because it's more of a jap thing. If you search youtube they even make some crazy MAD videos like this:

I disagree. I love fights like Zinogre that are just straight-up brawls, but I don't necessarily think it's bad to have monsters that almost require items be brought. In the case of raths, if you don't want to bring items, don't; bring a gun instead.

As much as I hate some monsters, there seems to be a good balance between those you can memorize the patterns of, and those you can cheese with items. And let's be frank: there's nothing better than item cheese against some cheeky cunt like Rathalos or Nibel.

If you're fast enough, there's 2 farcasters at the box since the start of the quest. If you're quick on your feet, you'll ever only need 1 Farcaster in an entire session of charm farming. Meanwhile you could multiply exciteshrooms at the Trader, until you have enough.

Horns are situational.
Pick the one that least matches your armor
If you hunt with friends do the same for them.
Thing about horns is to maximize team DPS by stopping stun time like roars, tremors, and wind pressure. Reducing heal times by keeping people high on health so they can't get killed in one hit by a hyper monster. If you have DB of Hammer in the team they also appreciate negate stamina

Horns like the Polaris Wrath, Warmonica, Mountain Crusher, Gold Chordmaker are good.
Akantor Dark Melody gets a shot if you can stand it's horrible sharpness in favor of that high raw and affinity.

Also capcom needs to fuck off with screen spam. Just put the icons on the fucking side of the names. You don't get a recovery message every time someone uses a fucking lifepowder. So fuck off from my horns or at least put it on the horn players screen only so they know what they are playing if they are retarded and don't know what they are doing.

I'm kind of hoping not. Not because I thought it was garbage but because I was garbage at it, since I can never tell if I'm hitting the monster or not.

I only have one functioning eye so I can't use the 3D effect, but I always aim my camera down when hunting so that I see half of the monster usually and water combat stripped me from that perceived depth. Everytime I watch someone play MH, they the camera pretty much dragging along the ground that the monster is in front of their character directly. Are people with normal vision able to tell the distance and such of the monster's attacks/distance like that?

Everytime I lock onto the monster I have to always pull my camera down, it's kind of annoying really.

But water combat really lacked that ability for me to hit it properly since I needed to lock directly on it, so as I could swim directly to it, to actually hit the fucking thing otherwise I'm too high or too low instead.

Say I am using a GS and hitting a monster
I hit it vertically, of course, and my hit goes through it's wing, then the body and then the legs.

Does the damage done only apply to the first part hit? Does it hit all three parts at full force separately? Does it split up the damage in 33.33% parts for each?

What happens here?

Gunlance likes artillery, and otherwise it's just bread and butter blademaster skills. Guard+ and Guard Up are always handy. Razor sharp is useful because shelling eats sharpness. Otherwise just pick damaging skills that you like/complement the weapons you're using.

Thanks for the charm farming room, anon, but the desire sensor prevented any of the 80+ charms that I got from having wide-range on them.

So I just fought Kirin

Took like 25 minutes because it just keeps bouncing everywhere. Who's bright idea was it to put a monster this fast when all weapons are slow. I actually timed out the first time using GL because it was too slow that I switched to a faster sword and shield and he was still too fast bouncing around everywhere. Fuck this horse. Literally.
