Looking good, but shave off couple blocks from the top. I tried converting mine to 5x5 wheels but it was too tight a fit, could move the back wheels and make it slightly shorter by moving the cockpit forward as well. And something something couple rocket launchers. Cockpit is at the back with its hatch being the only entry into the vehicle.

Alright it's decent enough. Trying to ram a planetary lander at full speed still killed me from sheer G shock even though the cockpit is all the way at the back. Functions perfectly with half its front missing, though you have to enable steering on middle wheels. Missile turret on a rotor can be used to flip yourself over should the need arise.

I have no idea what the fuck he's thinking anymore. Perhaps he wants to make anything but FtD right now.

In any case, the REMo update is progressing pretty amazingly well. We got optimisation for part counts up to 400 running at 60fps, dueling AI, multiple arenas that you can switch between on the fly, free spectator camera, thruster bind GUI and the fix for the bug that was really annoying, some texture work, toggling off the help and version gui with a button prompt and... uh... I think that's it for now. SoG and REMcast soon.

eggpyrion update
>>
>>149773613
How is it lazy to simply change a few lines around to add the ability for more resources? That's either colossal, all encompassing laziness or purposefully being an asshole because he's a sore loser and won't allow himself to be wrong, ever, therefore he punishes everyone for *daring* to tell him he's in any way wrong.

In short, he's being a huge cunt, and I won't touch it again until that changes.
The way I'm seeing it, single resource will never fucking get removed. Even if his temper changes in the future, he'll be too much of a lazy ass to do something about it because "it's too late I'd have to redo everything," as if that stopped him this time. Though I honestly doubt he'll change his mind in any way. That'd be a complete miracle. RIP FTD.
>>
>>149778113
The laziness is him reducing resources. All of excuses he sites for the change point to him just not wanting to deal with it. The lashing out is all the forum bullshit and the refusal of mods.

Also who on earth needs yellow belts when he can shit out red and blue ones
>>
>>149778919
I'm not even talking about making it toggleable. Moddable resources, so you can just add more resources yourself on top the stupid fucking "materials", should be asininely simple to add. He's just being a spoiled child about it.
>>
>>149784948
That fuzzah fellow seems to be a butthurt sassy bitch who spends too much time on the internet. It's just a game, and the resources can change back if they don't work well.
If I had to deal with that kind of playerbase on a regular base I would hire a PR guy (like chunky from KSP kek) and only appear on useful threads once in a while.
>>
>>149786232
I don't know much about programming but it would mean (as far as i can guess):

>find everything related to resources
>modify it so it can accept extra stuff
>make the UI self-adjusting to accommodate the amount of different resources
>make sure everything doesn't break

Dunno, maybe someone with actual programming knowledge could approach him and say "Yo! I was looking for some internship training regarding video games. I like engineering games. Your game is in development. May i help you for no monetary compensation?"

>>
>>149786614
It depends on how it's set up. Going from 1 of something to many of something is generally not difficult to implement, but it's time-consuming. Potentially there's a whole lot of problems with interactions that also need to be accounted for.

I don't have a clue about FtD but arranging an actual game engine for modding capabilites is not something insanely easy. It implies refurnishing the basecode so the player can interact to it with their homemade plugins. Shit needs work.

There must already be some basic framework for it, as they did major reworks of the game to make basically anything changeable in the game, limited only to resources and a few other things like faction configuration and AI and the such.
Not to mention he literally just removed five resources and replaced them with one, going through all the involved effort and "rebalancing" the campaign. It wouldn't be difficult at all to add in a few branches, some UI and change around the filesystem to support additional resources.

Clip out the tiny roads that connect to the large and keep the medium on the large. A chain of lights is a heavy penalty for traffic. You want neighborhoods that break apart like tree leafs as much as possible. Think traffic like how air moves in the lungs effectively. The idea of those legs are too slow, the best way would be a mix of legs and wheels with suspension in the contact system, so you have some bounce and also some control of the friction, wich makes easier the whole movement, you will need 2 movements instead of 6.

Sometimes you will consume so much that the amount carried over time will not be enough to supply it and you will face a shortage, even with enough materials to input on said belts, there is just so much a belt can carry. A workaround would be using more belt lines, but faster belts helps too.

I sort of agree, but today's market means you practically need a degree just to get your foot in the door unless you are incredibly well-connected. I will say that I learned a lot of things from talking to my professors, outside of my studies. A lot of it is things they picked up throughout their career and don't teach in class because it's not entirely relevant and/or takes up too much classtime, but are happy to elaborate on during office hours.

Its kinda fun. but making a hull is like a third of building process. And its getting more and more complex the further it goes.

You have to keep air drag, and weight/buyoancy ratio if you a making a non hydrofoil boat, in mind as you make a hull.

Then you have to build a custom engine with exhausts outside, then you have to make custom weapons and ammo.

Then, after placing the cargo/ammo blocks, you have to fine tune centers of propulsion/mass/drag and the settings of AI and control blocks.

And then you have to make sure that your sub/plane can actually go relatively straight while fighting,
>>

Yeah, it's not too good though. Due to physics fuckery the water is fairly compressible and pretty laggy in large amounts.
>>
>>149862498

But then how are you going to cool the oil?

You would need some kind of pumps to move it around otherwise it will just sit over the heatsinks and get hot, and then how are you going to cool the oil? Water has a higher heat capacity, water cooling is much better established, and much more effective.
>>

Well if you have old hardware you can throw to the oil god and have literally nothing better to do, then godspeed you absolute madman. Post pics.

But that won't change the fact that closed circuit watercooling is best colling solution for a gaming PC and a blade server with couple huge fans moving absurd ammounts of air through it is the best for anything more serious.

Buy EVGA 1080 Ti hybrid, buy a small tank and mount it on whatever CPU, leave a couple case fans running at low RPMs so the rest doesn't hotbox itself to death and you've got a silent computing rig (silent computing cases never ever work for anything above entry tier hardware). Or, mehmet, my son, you can drench all of that in cooking oil.

Gyros then, on large ships they make great kinetic warheads.
Have you seen that video about warped armor destroying shit even if that part wasn't hit? That's why I'm saying to use non derformable blocks, there is no reason why your cockpit should break since it was in the back.
>>
>>149890990
>there is no reason why your cockpit should break since it was in the back.
Wheel clang is the reason. See also yuge crater left in the ice from several wheels clanging at once.
>>
>>149891616
Looking at it closely, is there no armor under the cockpit?
Clang is always very pleased with these things.

If you have no armor there, then you can't probably solve this, wheels will clang many time and it takes only a little clanging to take out a cockpit.
Can you change it to seat+remote? The back won't look as cool but you can probably get some more durability if you add a layer of armor, and if I recall correctly the seat is shorter than the cockpit in height.
>>
>>149818319

Can't you just get some cheaper food? You can get B-grade peanuts from pet stores intended for use in bird feeders, but they're more or less safe for humans and are a good source of protein which is filling.

Cut it in half for ya. Literally all this thing has, not even renewable oxygen for cockpit. Cockpit is in direct contact with rear wheel mounts, all the batteries are in contact with all the other wheels, so it's a chain reaction.

What you're saying is go large grid idiot, and I will consider, but strictly speaking if I ever need to go carmageddon on someone's ass I have 3 rocket launchers on a rotor mount. This thing runs over cyberdoges beautifully as is.

no, large grids will kill your details and honestly I don't like wheels on large grids that much. The only thing would be using nondeformable blocks, but since you're only vanilla I don't think you can find anything that will fit your needs sadly.

It anyway looks good enough, just don't ram heavy grids. Or ram things and please clang, everyway works.

Can you spawn a new wheel in case one detaches or will it say there's no space?
The armor looks pretty close to the wheel, when I was using them you'd need to have a lot of free space even around the suspension block to have the wheel spawn wehn you placed the block, I'm wondering if they changed that.

>>
>>149903726

I think I might abort the angel's + furrymod playthrough having just set up quartz production, which requires mining two kinds of ore, crushing them and separating out the stone, refining the ores in a "floatation cell" (which requires water from a purification building) and separating out "geodes" (which apparently can be used to make the bob's gemstones), then sending these refined ores to another building where they are combined into quartz ore via the use of a "catalyst" which is made from "mineral sludge", which is itself made by combining sulfuric acid with "slag" that is a byproduct of sorting crushed raw ores into iron and copper ores.

Then of course all you need to do is make the quartz into silicon using carbon made from coal and water, in addition to calcium chloride made from stone and hydrogen chloride that you get from electrolysing the byproduct "saline water" from the purification building that supplies the floatation cells.

And they all have to be in the right ratios or something will get backed up and whole operation stops working.

But you can. It takes some "engineering", but if you build shit right you can drift like a mad cunt.

You just need to balance the weight around your cars right, and use the right mix of wheels. Different wheels have different grips and speeds, and then theres steering wheels and non steering wheels, and they can greatly affect how your car handles.

Throw an engine into it too for more speed, and you can drift for days. The only downside is the shitty russian servers giving everyone outside of Europe 300+ ping, which makes trying to even drive normally a pain in the ass.

Factorio files are interpreted by game, you don't need to compile the source from github, just zip it. (unless they make their own build process, but that would be retarded) The only thing git repo can be missing are graphics because git is not for images.

pistons dosent work as rotors for locking.
They use to detach when you do it, and you cant reconnect it again, only add a new piston head.

You mean "use the connector force"? Cause activating merge blocks before they are perfectly aligned causes my 100k ton abomination to propel forward at a very large speed. It's good that merge blocks are the better choice, I like when everything is a part of one grid, but what exactly makes landing gears a worse choice?

Fuck my brain, yes, i ment the connectors force to align everything, then merge.
If you want to use whatever is in that connected part, use merge blocks, if not, use connectors.
Landing gears... use only 1 per connection, more will explode, no matter what you do, besides, the ship wont recharge batteries and you cant access it.

Another is use rotors, advanced or regular.
Put the rotor base in one ship, the head in the other and just atach it, and lock it later.

like i said, you dont have much information. im eventually going to plaster the place in solar panels and accumulators and it fits with the max distance you can have between two substations. there are still large power poles from before i could afford to waste resources on unfinished projects running along the railroad

switching between underground and normal pipes when placing them is exactly one bother. i dont know if underground pipes transport its not an issue anyway

i didnt say night vision was for ayy killing, i said i can swap out night vision for other stuff if i need it

But with huge amounts of space it can be comfortably viable right?

Is this with furry mods as well or just refining on vanilla? This mod looks like fun, viewing it from outside.
>>

I guess so, but it would be nice to have it vaguely compact. I am coming to the realisation that I will need some kind of bus for raw materials, I also have to deal with about 20 different fluids (this is with furrymod as well).

There is no way, you should just love CLANG.

Last time I tried (probably a couple of updates ago) landing gears on pistons either break them or worse.
It didn't work like this in the past, so there might still be a chance that it will be fixed. Or maybe they did, but if you decide to use a landing gear bear in mind that it might be broken anytime an updater rolls in.
by the way if you don't lock EVERY grid with pistons, there's still the possibility that it will clang, so if you lock only the last block and you have two pistons, the middle piston might break free.
Things on rotor are more stable, and you can lock them.
I've noticed that locked things tend to be deleted tho, maybe they fixed this too but I don't know.

When I replaced my microwave they had to ship it back and get a new one twice because they had obvious damage to them. I guess they just assume it's meant to be sitting in one place so don't build it to take much of a beating that is inherent in shipping them sometimes.

I was trying yo use digi's wing mod to make propellers to lift a carrier, and I was unaware of the rotational limit for grids (I thought there was only a linear speed limit) so I was wondering why things wouldn't spin faster, and if adding more torque would change something (those are mech's gears form gears and things on springs from the same mod).

But turns out anyway that the force doesn't move from the small grid to the large grid, for some reason. I managed to make it work on a small grid though.

With aerodynamics mod instead it seems to be working even from small to large grid.

Either a way for the laser to change the collision group of the object it's on, or it changes the collision of any object in general (you can specify it with the object id, but I don't know how). Either way would work but preferably the first.

Getting somewhere with the laser thing, running into a few problems:
Lasers reflect and refract, which is fucking awesome, but it will hit things you don't want it to. I think that there are settings for that though.
I have yet to find a way to change the properties on specific objects, only objects it directly interacts with. Documentation is a little lacking.

Sick dance moves.
Also you don't have to worry about locking your knees on a leg press.
Also you can't walk and you automatically get free welfare money and you can just play games for free all day and make an external joints to bring back the 1 dof to your knees (removable for when you hit the dancefloor).

It'd be like having the flexibility of your shoulder but on your knee. Unstable for walking, but if you're a canopy dweller it'd be pretty useful.

Yeah, documentation is shit. I've tried reverse engineering some things but there are so many scenes on the database and I just don't know what to look for.

The reflection/refraction won't be a problem. Anything they hit will be opaque, and they will have a limited fading distance.
>>
>>150046707
You said that changing the collision of the object the laser is attached to would be preferable to changing the collision of the object by defining its ID. Why is this preferable, out of interest?

I doubt there exists any kind of "e.parentObject.collisionSet" expression, but changing it by assigning it an ID and using something like "e.ID.collisionSet" seems much more likely to exist.

Also, if you have any documentation that would help, it would be appreciated. So far I've found a single page via google, and a bunch of irrelevant forum posts.

It would just be more modular. I could paste the script onto a laser and stick it on whatever I want. Using the geomID means I'd have to tweak it every time.

It's not really important, whatever's easiest.

Sorry man. The only recorded code I've got is a simple onCollide to change collision sets of the colliding object
onCollide =
(e)=>{
e.other.collideset = 1
}

Anon, I

Look. Here is roughly how you do bitrate: file size/duration. So 4chin's 3MB = 3*1024 kilobytes * 8 = 24576 kilobits. Your webm is 23 seconds long so optimal bitrate for it is 24576 / 23 = 1068 kbit/s.

Is not rocket science.

>>150047990

Some guy just got back to me from a different avenue. Here's his post.

"Just a little comment on the script if you want to know/do more:

" my_box := Scene.entityByGeomID((readable(entity)).geom); "

will get the geometry the laser is attached, with this you can edit every property of the attached geometry, for example:

my_box.friction = 0.0;

will make the box frictionless.

Everything that you put inside the first brackets will be executed if the laser hits anything, and everything inside the last brackets will be executed otherwise."

I still have no idea what it means, but hopefully it means something.
Cheers for helping out man.

Robo Control Panel:

Place anywhere in the logistics range of a roboport to connect it to that logistics and construction network.
Click on the unit to view statistics, request a one-time fetch of resources, or construct.
You can move your camera anywhere to any discovered tiles.
To construct you can select an item from a dropdown menu and place a ghost of it in the world, which construction robots will build once the required object available.
You can also use construction robots to edit the settings of a placed object while using the panel.

Basically the idea is that you'd be able to view and manage any part of the base connected to the logistics network without the need for your actual presence there. Obviously this would be something in the near late game and require a decent amount of resources.

Thoughts?

Minecraft's a fucking mess because they've got no idea what they're doing, and it has no base structure or systems, mods have to establish that.

Freejew compensates for NOTHING.

I remember when tier 4 blocks were effectively 3/5 of tier 10 blocks but at like 1/10th of the price

Then they changed how armor was calculated and now tier 4 blocks were like 3/10 the worth of a tier 10 so you'd have more reason to buy tier 10 - this was when people would buy a couple base blocks like blue or orange and then buy blacks to tier up slowly and upgrade more important parts of their bots

Have you played the demo, out of curiosity?

In any case, we're working on more weapons and weapon types. You might also notice that these are not aircraft, these are not space fighters, these are not anything you've seen before because these have never existed. These are combat vessels, "CV's". Massive thickly armored vessels the size of yachts, typically. You'll be able to make CVs like fighters, but not all CVs are traditional fighters.

I do understand turrets are kinda boring if they are the only weapon, but this near-fetishism focus is somewhat disconcerting. Yes, there is going to be fixed weapons, gimballed weapons, weapons on mounts and mounts without weapons so you can mount weapons to them in the case they don't have mounts.

All sorts of combinations of all sorts of things, including fixed, gimballed, turreted, sponsoned, ect.

Right now the focus is getting the game to function properly at a decent framerate under most conditions, and get the framework in so we can add more shit without going back and unfucking old shit.

>>150064875
I don't know too much about it "removing" the focus, but it certainly does make it a bit easier to land shots on a target. Have you played the latest version? Angling yourself against incoming fire is pretty important. Regardless, I do agree it would be pretty darn interesting to have a rapid fire weapon such as a vulcan that is fixed. Ace combat and all that.

Unfortunately, right now, rapid fire small calibre weapons don't do shit for dick because there isn't any damage/penetration code in the game yet. That should be in soon enough, then we can focus fully on additional weapons and weapon types. Right up until then, only big dumb heavy 76mm cannons actually do anything. Also, webm related, the AI doesn't even fire weapons that don't traverse, so that will take some work as well. It feels pretty clunky too. Spent five minutes trying to even hit anything.

The letters in Cryllic are actually latin letters after a bunch of dyslexic alcoholics somehow managed to wander into the shittiest part of the world. Being perpetually drunk, they were uniquely qualified to live in a part of the world no sane man would ever even have night terrors about living in. Being separated from Europe by sanity and a lack of people who would even think about stumbling into Russia, they evolved their own language based on the grunts and utterances of drunks and the bears the drunks mistook for women. They claimed the land for themselves, and since nobody wanted a frozen shithole full of drunks, bears, and drunken bears, nobody disagreed Sure, several armies invaded but quickly turned back after they discovered that Russia was truly as bad as everyone made it out to be.

Then some prick sent Russia plans to build nukes and everything went to hell.
