He can't fucking juke you if the trapper does his job and uses his tools which are in his kit for a reason. If playing Griffin, for instance, you should be laying sound spikes in case the monster tries to juke you.

You are describing a "problem" that is entirely reliant on the performance of the hunter team. And it's not like juking is easy in any case, as it requires you to sneak, which is slow and doesn't do much to visually hide you.

You are literally supporting the casualization of the game because you feel like actually hunting down the monster is too hard for the hunters.

it's not that the monsters have too much mobility, it's that hunters are too slow now after their movement speed nerfs from Legacy to S2. monsters used to have shorter cooldowns on traversals outside of combat and longer cooldowns inside of combat, same with abilities.
Some abilities cooled down TWICE as fast IN combat, than out of combat. for example, warp blast was 10s out of combat, 5s in combat.
They've pretty much removed most of this though and unified it so instead of it being 10 and 5, it's 7. This means monsters are much faster overall with less cooldowns on traversals and abilities + they slowed hunters down by 10% base which makes you feel slow as fuck now.

The issue is at the current pace of games, slowing down Hunters means Monsters will hit stage 3 every single match most without a single doming.

Monsters are too fast and evolve too quickly. I don't enjoy having a big red arrow pointing to the monster but I also don't like endlessly chasing a Wraith moving at the speed of FUCK for 7 minutes while never getting a chance to engage. Or God willing we get a dome one fight and POOF fucking gone in the wind against until they want to fight.

The dome was on a static timer, hunters were faster, monster could actually skulk about and juke if he was good. Stage one fights were rare and if they happened, it usually meant the monster would lose because he got caught way too early.

Overall it was an experience much more reminiscent of an actual hunt. The only genuinely good change that Stage 2 brought with it was the ability for all hunters to dome.

Monster will almost always win against a pug hunter team.

A premade hunter team will almost always win against the monster.

Its been that since forever.

The solution to monster mobility is to increase the amount of energy they need to evolve, not to slow them or the hunters down.

Another, better solution is to randomize wildlife spawns and locations. Once you learn the optimal route for each map, you will basically always get to at LEAST stage 2 before a dome, regardless of what the hunter team does. If you're able to juke even ONCE then you can get to stage 3 before even seeing the hunters.

there was no more than 3 directions a monster could go, most monsters followed the optimal feeding routes to stage up as quick as possible. In some maps there were only 2 routes the monster could go from spawn, that meant it was a 50/50 chance to catch the monster innately. Daisy would track the monster and bark when nearby, Gobi had BULLSHIT levels of detection range, griffins sound spikes could easily section off 85% of the map with proper placement.

Birds spawned every 3-5 times you ate not in a cave giving the hunters your exact position allowing them to fan out along the chokepoints you'd need to move through to get out of the area.
It was pretty easy to hunt the monster if you were half decent hunters.

the reason it was easy to track monsters back then was because maps had long narrow choke points where you could fan out and secure to effectively lock the monster inside of it. Then you'd let them eat until they went to evolve, then everyone would rush in and dome the monster which had either 0 armor or 25% armor (depending on which patch this occured) from there you could easily chunk half the monsters total health pool before he escaped.

You can't really do this as effectively anymore since the monsters now choose the domes instead of the hunters. Really shitty game design that the trapper can't force a dome on his location anymore.

Here's my perspective as a new player that was brought in by the f2p dealio.

The game doesn't really offer what it advertises. When I hear 'four hunters track and attempt to put down a monster' I expect something different from this game.

The monster has regenerating shields, the evasion aspect appears to have been mostly patched out instead of being made more fun, the HP pools are more like an RPG than an FPS.

It seems to me like the devs have realized that 99% of the mechanics originally in the game (eating to gain armor, monster evading the hunters, etc.) weren't fun and instead of fixing that they just lazily put a band-aid on them. In the process they lost the game's identity and now it's a safer, more boring, less unique MOBAclone where you're just mindlessly dumping cooldowns.

The game would become 1000% more fun if the monster and hunter HP pools were reduced significantly, so that shooting the monster feels like shooting the monster, not doing math on the monster's HP pool.

This is what really kills this game, or specifically playing as the monster for me.

Focus regular val first, rogue val after support. You can't out DPS R val's heal without the assault raping you. stay the fuck away from electro, keep destroying griffin's harpoons. stay away from markov's mines and hyde's grenades. if they matrix, switch to someone else unless they're near death. sunny will just keep putting up shield drones so don't bother with them. kraken can counter markov and hyde pretty well since he can fly. electro has piss poor range so he shouldn't be too much of a problem. If you get caught in stage 1 then you're fucked. If you get caught in stage 2 then you could win if you're good enough. If the hunters are retarded enough to let you reach stage 3 with good health then you have a 90% chance of winning. Just don't think you can destroy the relay, because you can't. If you can evolve to stage 3, go by the relay so you can get the drop on them. The only monsters that I'd recommend are Kraken, M goliath, and if you're good at her, Wraith. Kraken because Markov and Hyde have to use up all of their jetpack to get to you if they want to deal damage. M goliath because he's just a better goliath. And Wraith because she's a monster if played right, however markov and hyde melt her. Electro griffin really shouldn't be that much of a problem if you're good.

There is only one monster I think is overpowered. When I die against monsters, it usually feels like they played well, but the fucking gorgon putting everything into acid, that is bullshit. Even if you try to dodge it, you'll still receive massive damage. I went behind a pillar to take cover, but it could just move around and persist its spray. Boosting vertically doesn't really help either.
