I didn't even mind not being able to choose my map, honestly. They should've made it so you could vote for like 3 maps, then play through all three of those maps on that particular game mode with the same people. /tf2g/ I've picked up an orphaned map where some other guy left off, and I want feedback from anyone with a bit of comp experience into what it needs. It's inner city Paris-themed, so any gameplay changes need to keep that in mind.

Just pointing out anything not obvious from above; there's two entrances to the last point, there's two entrances to second, and there's four ways you can get to mid for each team.

In the location marked "apartment", there's a Harvest-like elevated section where you can enter the building and jump out of the windows.

The purple lines represent a sort of subway going underneath the map, with an entrance at the centre of the map and exits at either second point.

The purple cross-hatching represents the entire lower level of the map, the "canal".

The "gates" to each last point open only when second has been captured.

I feel like there's a lot of dead space on this map, and I might even remove his canal section entirely (the sightlines on it are fucking huge), but I would like some feedback from anyone with the time. Will follow up with another screenshot.

Lack of autobalance means 2 rounds of a quick stomp are a reality more often than not, ragequits fuck you big time, then it's back to casual queues.

Then 5 minutes later team scramble has to happen again because it put all the retards on one team and the good player on the other. This isn't fun, it's fucking stupid because the teams were perfectly fine as they were before.

Teams are far more unbalanced now than back then, for the simple fact that a very quick win, or more than 1 brutal rape kind of win triggered an autobalance, which did make things more competitive. People complained about autobalance but it's far worse to have extremely one sided matches.

Just played a match with 3 less players on my team compared to the other team.

You can cry "but they'll fix it!!" as much as you want, but the fact is that pubs worked just fine with server browser + quickplay, and now they're worse. This new system was a step back to pubs no matter how you slice it.

The enemy team already wasted an entire PLAYER slot by picking Engineer, and it's not "half your primary ammo", it's half your primary CLIP.

Heavies only need to shoot at a mini for a second to blow it up. Medics aren't meant to be partaking in combat but two Crossbow bolts will still down a minisentry anyway. Snipers can destroy a mini in two uncharged 50 damage shots or one partially charged 100 damage shot. Engineers will have a Sentry of their own anyway. Pyro can take down a Mini in four flares or a shotgun clip, or can rush down the mini losing 50/175HP, but who the fuck is going to be running a Pyro anyway?

Engineer is Scout's intended counter. He was introduced to the game in the 90s to stop all-Scout rushes by providing an aimbot to counter Scout's hyperactive mobility.

If you have a balanced composition of Scouts, Demomen and Soldiers on your team, minisentries will be no problem. Just use TEAMWORK as the Demos/Soldiers take down the mini and allow the Scout to fuck up the weak Engineer.

It's called TEAM fortress 2 for a reason, not "call of duty: i can do literally everything as a lone edgy wolf edition"

The stomps of casual are no different than the "quality" you would find before in many valve severs. After a couple disconnects, you had to wait while getting stomped and pray people would join or autobalance/ scrambling would actually work and people wouldn't restack teams. Valve servers only "worked" because you could just abandon at any point you started to lose and fish for a different sever, completely glossing over all the constant imbalance and constant hit or miss effect of autobalancing and scrambles.

Yet valve had to adjust casual mode due to the massive amount of whining, when casual mode should not have been the priority.

Anyways I'm done with this debate, I will go thoroughly enjoy my 12v3 pub matches now.
