Just curious if the numbers have dipped to the point Hyde is better for all around damage and reliability. It is far easier to just point and click the bug zapper for 9 seconds but if tossing poison grenades and jizzing napalm all over is going to be stronger I'll have to adjust my character selection.

It would be 50% of the total if the damage was evenly distributed between stages, but its not.
They're nerfing half the stages, but not the half that did the most damage.
Think of it this way.
If the beam lasts 10 seconds, and the first 2.5 seconds do 2 damage, the second does 4, the third does 6 and the 4th does 8, the total is 20 damage.
If you reduce the first two stages by half, it does 1+2+6+8=17 damage instead.

How do I become less shit at monsters?
I currently have a 39 to 1 loss/win ratio as Goliath and 12/4 as elder Kraken. The hunters always manage to catch up to me instantly. But when I play as the hunters, the monster manages to cover half of the map in mere seconds

The more I play this game I realise that /evog/s idea of whats good and what isn't, isn't accurate, /evog/ says Jack and Maggie are shit, but I played in a game just now where jack used nothing but his Annoyance Field and it did a better job of keeping me off their medic / support a lot better than crows stasis rifle, abes stasis grenades and griffins harpoon gun, the only other trapper that manages that as well is Maggie/Waggie.

The only actually shit characters are Waggie and Torvald. Every other character is viable. Laz is just really fucking shitty now compared to literally any other version of laz since they DOUBLED his revivifier pickup from 2s to 4s, tripled the cooldown on it from 10 > 30. And with the nerfs to his damage, monsters with feeding speed actually can eat faster than he can reach the damage threshold to stop them from eating. Plus he can't revive half-eaten corpses for some stupid fucking reason. He's still viable with specific team comps though. just not good. at all.

A lot of shitters spend too much time trying to deal damage, when they should be slowing the monster, which might have given you the wrong impression. I guess it's all kind of subjective, but Trapper seems to have a very large impact on Goliath / Meteor Goliath which is the only monster I play, they'd probably have less of an impact in a Wraith / Kraken game, but to me, a good trapper makes or breaks a game, downing a medic / support is easy even with cheese and ledge chasing but throw harpoons or an annoyance field into the equation and all of a sudden you're doing fuck all and the assault is nibbling on your ankles the entire time. From a monster point of view though the tier list is a bit off.

In regards to Crow and Abe, I never have a problem with their slows, I can always use a traversal, charge or leap smash to negate them completely and there's an off chance I'll destroy the grenades and from my experience, crow has very little CC, i run into him mostly every match and I've never had a problem with him.

Trappers are very relevant. Abe does high damage and gives perma tracking on monsters along with slowing grenades that work against every monster.

Crow has decent tracking with gobi, decent stasis shots, and very high damage.

Griffin has basically perma tracking, and extremely good slows with his harpooning which prevent the monster from doing nearly as much damage as normal.

I've hit a regular of over 6k damage almost every game as abe. This is with throwing grenades for over half of every fight. It's pretty easy to hit numbers over 10k as Abe too and still be using grenades regularly. I've hit 16k as abe and that was still with grenade spam. I have a 20 win streak atm and I only play trapper. I like to think I'm the common factor in our team winning considering everybody else never has higher than a two win streak on my team.

New evolve player, here. I main monster, primarily Gorgon and Goliath. Having zero problems with Gorgon, spiderman is incredibly fun and versatile.

I'm not sure if it's possible to beat a team with a good Rogue Val with Goliath, though. Every single time I see her I know I lose if I'm playing Goliath.

Impossible to keep her from healing her teammates because of the bullshit range on her healing beam. I also have no idea how to reliably kill her. Any tips?

Depends on the team composition, if they've got a hank or a bucket you're probably not going to get R.Val and should just focus the support, her healing doesn't last forever and she can't burst heal teammates either, just have to be persistent. Also Goliath probably isn't the best monster for a new player, it's high skill ceiling and easy to counter.

That depends on the situation. If I think it is viable and will help in future - I do that. Otherwise I help to remove armor so team can damage HP together.

Normal shots with rifle technically do more DPS (per minute) than charged.

Nah if wraith is running from you around the dome most trappers can't deal with her, to many jumps and traversals.

Jacks repulsar works like this, if the monster is moving in the direction you are repulsing he is repelled and it's green. otherwise it's red and drains charge fast.
I recommend start pointing it around of near the monster instead of on the monster, you have alot of control over which direction to stop them. like maybe 180 degrees of control.

careful though if you turn it off it's got like a 1 sec CD, regardless of charge.

That's the only way to play Wraith if you want to have a chance at winning against a decent team.
Supernova is useless because it forces you to sit in the same spot and you'll lose half your health to their assault.
You basically have to spend as much time as possible either knocking everyone around or splitting them up or just doing hit and runs to try to actually get something done without losing most of your pathetic health pool
