Join a 5 man premade where you guys just let one side kill the other as fast as possible for several games in a row.

Explain to me why Griffin or Jack are good picks vs E.Kraken, Kraken, or Gorgon.

Griffin vs. E Kraken - He's going to be in the air the entire fight, he doesn't need mobility to deal 90% of his damage. He breaks your hook by using chain lightning, the only ability you would need to stop anyway.
Same problem with Jack. Repulse his chain lightning, great.

Kraken is the same argument more or less.

Gorgons now only go acid spray and web spit, whatever theyre called. Harpooning a Gorgon chasing a teammate down can be helpful, but again it deals 90% of its damage through ranged abilities.
Same argument for Jack more or less

jack is used against krakens because it hard disrupts their lightning strikes since the velocity of lightning strike is directly related to how fast the kraken is moving at the time of cast. So a slow or not moving krakens lightning strike is piss easy to dodge, whereas a fast moving krakens is near impossible.

Jack also shuts down aftershock for obvious reasons.
Jack can also use the repulsor to force the kraken down to the ground and force it to burn traversals just to deplete repulsor or be stuck immobile on the ground for 8seconds.

I feel like I'm not using Griffon's Harpoon properly. Am I supposed to stop moving when i hook him? The monster always seems to retain full movement even if I'v had him hooked for up to 8-10 seconds, yet whenever I get hooked as the monster I immediately feel crippled.

I know you're probably just memeing/baiting but honestly I can see it happening.

They released the f2p version as a open beta but they removed a lot of content while they are reworking it. I'm sure TRS is working as fast as it can to bring that content back while adding new things but it's going to take a while.
Then there's the problem with the new UI not explaining a lot of things and the lack of information for the players.
And another important flaw is that stupid quick play matchmaking/role selector that was made by a third party Rajesh that is simply garbage.
And in the end the game itself is really hard to balance and TRS is trying to find a way to balance scrub pubs and organized matches with one rule set and it's going to take a lot because it's an almost impossible task: how can you make sure that a coordinated team of hunters doesn't shit on monsters 90% of the times while not making the monster shit on low levels 90% of the time?

You get to spam heal burst so much, the only thing stopping it from being broken is that it heals fuck all.

Imagine chasing that little fucker around doing the biggest burst damage you can possibly do but because he hit 3-4 shots he can heal to full again.

Does Maggie need buffs and Crow/Griffin/Abe need nerfs?

Daisy is still a baller w/ that ability to pick up hunters but since everyone has planet scanner her ability to trace the monster feels really useless.

On the other hand I've played as Crow and I have no idea how the monster was supposed to get away from me. I kept on chasing it and hitting it with slow shots when the dome was down and I could keep it constantly CCd and playing against Griffin had the same effect.

Abe is more tricky but if he gets that tracking dart on you it feels like it lasts long enough for you guys to get stuck in a corner again and then it's radar dome time gg. Is there options for the monster that I'm just not seeing?

As a common thread I usually play them (and see them played) as guys who stick to the monster when the dome is down, making sure it can't escape while the rest of the team plays catchup and to dome it again.

I decided to give the game a go for the first time. Played for 5 hours.

What characters should I aim for? What perks?

Markov's damage is shit, but I can stay near monsters long enough to make use of Blitz Markov's tesla gun.

After some rounds, I think playing is a gamble. I don't get how usually hunters just decimate a monster, and next round the monster three shots people at stage 1.

I don't remember which trapper is cheap but the ones with the best tracking are probably abe and griffin, and they also have good cc


Don't buy perks for now, markov and blitz both give silver jet recharge which is good on everyone, you don't need to buy red perks, and if you do buy a gold perk you'll probably want an all purpose perk ie a jetpack one. First level is enough for them until much later.

For me I just throw the bird out when I think I'm near the monster which is usually by the time I get the second ping for the radar sweep.

I found the bird to have a nice enough cooldown to just keep on throwing it out desu. If I see it in the distance then I imagine it has enough range to lock onto it so you can track any jukes it tries while you close in.

As far as Griffin the one I played against that wrecked me would harpoon from a distance and just keep on harpooning, and shoot when it was on cooldown or w/e.

Harpoons are designed to be taken of real fast but they have to face it to do so, so try to harpoon it on the side or back so it has to keep on turning, losing time and maybe even orientation.

It's something that isn't really explained but if a hunter leaves the lobby the monster can back out to a selection screen that let's them pick an empty hunter slot (while in the lobby). So if the other 3 hunters are still there the monster can switch into a hunter roll to steamroll the ai monster in about sub 3min. I've done it a few times myself it's free win and exp.

You can actually do this with a full lobby if you want to switch rolls with somebody.

Don't bother with charged shots with the rifle unless the monster has shields and is trying to run away or will die before the shield depletes. Emptying the clip is better dps and you need to break the shield so the assault can start doing real damage anyway.
You should almost always charge the stasis gun, the slow lasts long enough to switch back to your regular gun, unload completely and switch back to reapply. Rapidfire is useful if you don't have time to charge a full shot or to get the slow started while you charge.

I guess just don't stop in one place except to feed and speed through the map as fast as possible. It's near impossible to do but if you are circling the edge of the map and get scanned if you turn around and circle the other way without the hunters noticing you can get a free stage basically.

So how I see it you gotta go through the middle of the map, eating what you can while along the way.

Their first ping will tell them that you are running long ways across the map.

Right now, my theory goes that by the time they have second ping, you are on the far end of the map and they use it to confirm that location, now you put them in a 50/50 by choosing to go hard right or left along the edge.

From there you double back across the center and repeat.

I feel that splitting up is going to become popular among Hunters, so git gud at quickly crounching and pouncing when you see an alone Hunter.

If you are getting closed in on, make sure there is terrain with a lot of walls and cliffs and shit. You climb faster than them and if they use boost to climb they have nothin to dodge so you kill them.

Downing any Hunter decreases dome time so fightfightfightfight when caught.

I've found Assault is plenty good at breaking armor on its own. Especially with the unreliability of teams and the Monster's ability to avoid the Assault I prefer to charge shot erryday. Also have you looked into dmg falloff at ranges when it comes to dps?

That's what I do anon, shoot at the fucker, pick and charge the stasis gun, then back to do some more dps. Also I learned that the holstered gun auto-reload itself, useful with R. Val to use the sniper, switch to the Poison darts shit, and pick the sniper again. I can't tell how many monsters I killed thanks to that shit.

I imagine it depends on what kind of fight it is.

Lvl 1 you might be able to lead them on a merry chase, so place them right behind you or even in front of you. Climb up to high places and place it there before leaping to another high place.

When the fights are more in your favor I can see you wanting to put them around your feet when they are forced to engage you or at nooks where they will want to hide at.
