Basically instead of going Moo2 way and doing a 4x they made some sort of Stellaris game with shitton of automation and everyone went apeshit over that.

It is way better than Stellaris. In Stellaris it's pretty much unfeasable to actually conquer the galaxy due to the outright bullshit war/wargoal/alliance system and the meme apocalypse events. In MoO3, the automation features actually help the player instead of crippling him, and the whole economy side of the game is far more coherent and sensible. The only real plus Stellaris has in my book is better graphics and a nicer look UI, though even then it is far less functional.

Welcome to HPM, where there are so few wool and fruit provinces in the world and so much demand for these goods that most low ranking nations won't be able to get anything, fucking up your population growth until you can fix it.

Basically, if you don't produce these goods you're fucked. You can get sphered by a country that has access to these goods, become a GP and sphere countries that produce them (such as Persia or Ottomen), or just annex these provinces by yourself.

You really can't bother with most countries in this shitty mod nowadays. BRAVO ALEX GRANDI.

I find autoresolve gives worse results than even basic manual control as in in basically every game in existence, but it's good enough where you can autoresolve unimportant battles and not have to worry. And there is value in micromanagement especially in new colonies, but a handsoff approach is equally valid.

The problem is it takes a lot of learning to figure out how to make the automation do exactly what you wish for it to do. For the most part for an empire management simulator MoO3 does it right.

Also, even though autobuilding ship designs works well there is still a lot of micromanagement needed in order to upgrade and maintain fleets. I think there should be a space empire game where ship design/upgrades is completely out of the hands of the player, since generally it is a very superfluous feature.

And with pops the only flaw is the inability to purge unwanted races, or restrict certain races to certain planets (Mixed planets really fucks with the terraforming). They really dropped the ball on that aspect.

Is it just me or is tea a god-tier good in HPM now?

I remember that a few versions back, tea used to be absolutely shit. A good with little global demand and no industrial applications, you just ended up getting insanely high unemployment rates with it.

But now it's all different. Not sure if the actual demand of the good was changed, but I do know that many tea provinces were shifted off to grain and cattle which might explain this somewhat.

In a current Japan game I'm playing (year 1903), none of my tea provinces ended up having any unemployment due to low global demand. Pops still consume a shitton of this and global demand is actually higher than production can keep up with, and coupled with the fact that most tea RGOs are fairly large, it's just good.

Wished that other goods with no industrial applications (coffee, tobacco etc.) would be buffed too, these are still bad. But so far tea seems to be the liquor of RGOs for me right now.

Readding 1861 would be a massive hassle. What he seriously needs to do is to fix migration already. Especially colonial migration. It's ridiculous to think that you can have precious metal provinces with the gold rush modifier (tons of immigration attraction, not sure how much) and get absolutely no one to move there. Or provinces with the population resettlement modifier (+500% immigration attraction), yet almost no one moves there either. They will typically leave your country instead, even if your province RGOs are good.

So regions that should historically be getting tons of immigration in the game (Australia, New Zealand, Hokkaido etc.) end up being largely unpopulated. Make the immigration and emigration NF worth something at least.

Assimilation seriously needs to be fixed too. If you have a core province with minorities living there (and they aren't the primary culture of a country that has a core in the same province), assimilation will either be extremely slow, like a dozen a month for pops larger than 10k, or NOTHING AT ALL.

I'm not asking for retarded robmod-tier levels of assimilation in which you can get rid of all native American cultures within years, but something better is definitely needed. Otherwise native pops end up being unhistorically large since they breed at the same rate of your primary culture, and still be a majority in many colonial provinces when it wasn't the case historically.
