In the case of older HoI games I've heard that playing USA or USSR is basically "do whatever the fuck you want" mode because of their massive industrial capacity.
Try playing around in south america as Brazil or Argentina if you want a more isolated campaign.

i've gotten frustrated with the peace conference system in regards to the major wars.
I'm playing around with making a bitter peace mod for germany and soviet union.
pic related is my setup for the original zones. I intend to give the german player 4 options. Original plan, Expanded plan, annex to urals and annex everything.
nevermind that they say democratic in the screenshot i haven't really set them up as proper countries yet.

Guards are useless cause attacking is shit, cavalry is useless unless you aren't westernized. Most of your damage is from artillery so that is pretty bad army balance. 4 INF + 4 ART + 1 ENG + 1 Hussar is pretty standard, although you can add another INF if you feel like you need more frontage

so, i finally recently got into vicky 2 after babbying around in ck2 and eu4 for a while, and i think i've got something of a hang of it, so feel ready to try mods

being a sucker for immersive and/or high-detail historical mods, and lurking in /gsg/ every once in a while, felt like i wanna try HPM first

but every time i load it up, i always get this exception:

tried switching mod folder from the steam folder to the documents folder, tried with and without compatibility patch for 3.03 (which is the version of v2 i'm running), with and without minimods, and tried searching in the pastebins regarding mods in this thread
Only thing i haven't tried is reinstalling vicky2, which would be quick and easy, but i just can't be bothered

anybody got an idea how to fix?
