If you're one of the ones that becomes super famous has a radio show and singing career and has been in the business for at least a decade then yeah you're pretty hot stuff but there's always the mid and low tier guys that have to struggle with the typical Japanese work yourself have to death and suck the dick of your sempai's for peanuts. And you have to basically go to seiyu school and get sponsored by someone to break into the industry.

Meanwhile you might not be able to get A list Seiyu level fame in the US but you probably have an overall better chance of getting a stable paycheck even just being an anime dubber over here. And it's significantly easier to break into over here (relatively compared to Japan anyway) where just impressing an director you run into at a con or touring a studio can land you gigs without needing an agent or classes or anything.

And it can lead to bigger roles like directing and scriptwriting and other stuff you can branch out to. In Japan you're a seiyu and that is your place for the most part.

Though it's easier to get around in Japan where the entire entertainment industry is in Tokyo, where as the US will bounce you around the country since there's studios and companies all over.

Besides, the idea of third-party exclusivity is stupid. I hated it when Nintendo paid for Bayo 2, when Sony paid for SFV, and MS when they paid for the first Dead Rising game.
