I also found another interesting detail. You know the deacons that are around the pontiff bonfire? I went to go test poisoning them and when I did it poisoned the invisible hollows in that cave(?) below them too for some reason. So it seems poison clouds are more like a pillar.

Jesus Christ, and people said Blighttown was hard. Even the waifu at the end of it all was underwhelming, the way she talks makes it pretty obvious that the whole area and the character was beta content.

I still have 3 re-specs left on my character, he is level 120 and he already has access to Sunlight Spear and a bunch of other Miracles.
I hear Dragonslayer Axe is pretty great with Lightning Blade, I was hoping I could use that for melee and hyper armor Sunlight Spear to kill people who don't know any better.

I agree. The only issue here is that level 80ers are deathly afraid of the good players that hang out at 120, and they just don't want to be alone. There is also confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance at play here. They honestly believed that the majority agreed with them and refused to see the truth. It's why there have been so many polls with 120 winning each one.

That doesn't mean you have to adhere to the meta on every character though. I tend to keep a character at around 50, for example.

Not so much since DS2 nerfed the shit out of lightening. It's hard to have something that strong get turned in to complete garbage overnight.

I use the miracle that turns your blade blue and gives you some massive health regen. On an Anri cosplay build I use that and another passive healing miracle when I can to annoy people with health regeneration. I really only use them for healing or removing things like poison.

The offensive miracles never felt practical in most situations. The ones that can stagger or push people back can be use in some situations to knock players off cliffs, but that's all I ever really got from them. Mostly people invest in faith and stick with a weapon/ buff that gives them something from it on their main weapon.

Coming from /bbg/, /dsg/ surely is a mess. Shit. Everyone talking about different games on different platforms...4chan can't handle that.

I'm curious because a friend of mine had issues like that, but his siblings could still play the game normally while he was in the same house using the same internet. And he'd be stuck like that for a day or two until things went back to normal. It happened a few times.

I've been seeing less and less Dark Sword users lately. I don't know if it's just my good luck or if it's becoming less popular as more people are learning how to better deal with R1 spam, but it doesn't seem like as much of a problem.
Parry spam and Hornet Ring definitely need to be dealt with though, it's fucking stupid that a bunch of rings get hidden nerfs in PvP but the Hornet Ring goes untouched. Make fist weapons always take damage from parrying, since hitting a 2 ton hammer away with your fist would probably hurt a bit.

Only if you invest up to 60 INT and get the late game spells, even then you'll have a harder time than anyone using pure melee. You should use the Farron spells for keeping pressure on people.

Sometimes. At lower levels resins will always be more effective, at higher levels they still are half the time. CMW at 60INT is pretty decent though, but as a mage you're basically limited to raw infusion if you want to use buffs. Crystal Sage's Rapier is a solid weapon for a mage though, and some weapons scale decently when crystal infused. Also want to take into consideration the usage of an attunement slot, which you could use for something else by sticking to resins.

I have an SL 99 sorc that I've messed with different builds on and here's what I use (pvp, at least. with 60 int pve is a steamroll and by irythyll/midgame you're no longer a wet noodle doing little damage)
Court staff offhand for WA buff/candlestick mainhand for tiny amounts of damage in bad situations & spell buff
Spells:

Don't use this like a typical sword, you want to stay away from folks. Under 30% weight is ideal for this. Catch people in rolls and recoveries, play defensively as you'll get shredded in melee
Mix it up with
>Soul greatsword and/or Dark Edge
These are basically the R2s you'd have on a typical weapon, sgs should usually be reactive to catch people otherwise they'll roll through and punish
>(Crystal) Homing Soulmass & Affinity
These will assist the bullet hell aspect that you want to focus on, throw enough at someone and eventually they'll screw up, while you don't need to put in nearly as much work. I use non-crystal soulmass because it casts faster and costs less, it creates a decent amount of space to exploit
Affinity is easier to dodge but mixing it up is good, the slow speed can work with faster projectiles to land a hit. It also hits like a truck even without any faith involved.
>Deep Soul, Great farron dart
These are my fast & slow generic magic missiles. You can also use great soul arrow but I prefer dart personally. Deep is cheap to cast and tracks slowly like affinity, only 2 can be out at a time. Follows people until it hits something. Farron dart has a rolling version of its cast that goes at a weird angle which has screwed me over on occasion.
Crystal soul spear is a nuke but I've never been able to rely on it so I use my slots for more dependable spells.
Rings are young and bellowing for damage, sage ring (not sure if it's optimal but I have low dex and seem to suffer with it off) & darkmoon ring (2 attunement slots is great, clutch isn't too good)

HOW TO HAVE YOUR OWN PET MIMIC IN 6 EASY STEPS

Before we begin the mimic at the pontiff bonfire must still be alive and you might want to backup your save incase he dies in battle.

1. Get the rappot pyromancy.

2. Go up to where the mimic is at the pontiff bonfire.

3. Give him a good fisting to wake him up.

4. Let him chase you until you reach the pontiff dueling arena.

5. Cast rapport on him. This will put him in sleep mode which he'll stay in until you fist and cast rapport again.

6. Now all that's left is to wait for invaders/summons to come. Once they do just fist/rapport him and let the battle begin.
