That's what I've been saying. The construction of the player ship isn't tremendously interesting, apart from weird logical leaps like there being no use making thrusters or solar panels in any shape except stacked minimum-width sheets. Also, there's not a lot of ship functionality apart from moving and shooting shit.

You have to build your boat in a certain order in adventure mode. I believe it is Engine block, cylinder, resource gatherer, raw resource storage, then you can start branching out from there. At least I am pretty sure that's the order.

I believe you can also just load up the adventure raft in designer, modify it to your liking, and save it over the original.

Nah so long as its cool and is within the realm of reason, I don't care how many blocks you use. We do need a variety of HQ sizes though. Just don't like bury AIs all over the place and make it a total pain in the ass to defeat.

Fins at the top or bottom just above the propulsion/below the nose. Fragmentation warheads with the cone angle set to less than 20 degrees. Should track well and be lethal. If you're using IR tracking, throwing a One-Turn Block wouldn't hurt either. They make the missile guide itself into whichever way you or the ai controlling it is "facing" (what you're aiming at basically) and then it's IR guidance will take over from there.

Thats for big missiles, in smaller parts will explode when speedcap lock and higer g forces, use a single rotor locked untill you need to shot it, unlock it, then detach the head with the shit you want to shoot and done, you can also use merge blocks but they are big as fuck.

If you're very new to this game, I suggest switching to one-way tracks as soon as you can.

They are much easier to design without risking deadlocks in places you couldn't even expect.

The trunk itself would be protected by the shield cancer, but the guns and protrusions wouldn't. The branches don't move after rotating into their initial position, and the AI is way too shit to fling anything with accuracy unless I wrote a lua program to handle it.

They're ejector propelled and fly about 80 meters from the center of the trunk, which means they can safely use magnets to chase down whatever tried to take shelter under the branches.

Thanks for the attempt, but the turrets work in atmo after scaling the ship back up to an CV (and sitting in them to prod them back to life). Testing with HV miniguns indicates that they only automatically fire when the craft is considered an HV as well.

- railway improvements for signals so you're never confused where to put them near the track, and they'll always work

- fire improvements and forest fires
- new inserter that claims the inserter stack size bonus research for itself; this one moves stacks of items, and can fill any space on a belt rapidly

What you're describing aren't countermeasures to LUA specifically.
Sonar is beaten by not being in the water.
IR can be distracted by flares and heat decoys.
Laser Guided demands laser lock-on and smoke/water allegedly fucks it up too.
LUA doesn't have an equivalent to the above countermeasures.

Then i thought: maybe i can attach 5 nukes to a ACB with proximity fuse, and a balloon on top to create aero mines. The balloon ended up at 800 meters, IN NETER.

The issue is that explosions wreck the fuck out of wood, while wood is actually very effective (in cost/effect terms) against AP spam. So CRAMs in the early game hard-counter the "early wood ship" concept.

Events only have an outcome of either relationship changes or fleet spawns.

Unlocks is closer to what you want but last I checked there was no way to lock individual parts behind a timewall. If there was you could have a planet that simulates the progression of technology.
I also think you should be able to lock/unlock entire blueprints for players, and be able to lock them behind their relation with another faction. That way, to use a specific example, when the play is of sufficient relationship with Naneaux they are granted "building rights" to their defense turrets and such, with the access to higher quality turrets being unlocked at higher and higher levels of relationship.

I would kill for these features to be added in as soon as possible.

If anyone is looking for a particular direction as to what to build, or if you're sick of building vehicles, I could use some small HQ's and small resource mining stations/ oil platforms. Also ideally I'd like at least a few variants of houses per each faction so that could be another thing you could try your hands at.

I can choose to have fleets (and therefore buildings and HQs) spawn in after a certain amount of time, so feel free to make them from any age you want. Now if only I could despawn fleets after a certain time we could get really autistic and have buildings that actually get upgraded with the latest weaponry as time goes on.

Stranded spacebots->Autonomobots

Children of the Egg (CotE) tend do be big, blocky, and full of guns. They primarily use wood and stone as a building material, favoring it over metal. However they do still use metal, especially in later designs. Light alloy is not really very much a thing on their boats until very late game. They prefer to use fuelless propulsion, but are not above using combustion engines, so long as they are efficient. (usually much less than ~9 fuel use per second on their engines, but 9 is the highest allowed for them). To make up for their lack of power and scarcity of metal armor, the CotE designs are usually much bigger than their counterparts. Their block limits are 50% greater than the other factions, so build big!

There is also the Arkay Archipelago Alliance, which basically have the theme of being a bunch of various islands banding together in a coalition. Their gimmick is that they are almost entirely civillian vessels retrofitted into ships of war.

Almost done. As a rundown on the ship so far, it has 3 layers of armor in the front each separated by 1m of air, and 2 layers on the sides. It has 4 2x30mm APS guns on each side, which load either 1xGP 1xHE or 1xGP 1xFrag, for antipersonnel (anti-player) purposes. It also has 3 180mm guns on each side, rigged to fire either Squash head rounds or 3block frag warheads, for stripping away armor. In the front is a huge 1200mm HE/EMP CRAM, 2x2 500mm HE CRAM, and 1x4 200mm CRAM.

I plan on putting 32 8 block thumper missiles on the top on a spin block. How's it sound?

However, one that snuck by fired at the weakly armored backside, where I built in an ammo room. It managed to pinprick one barrel and the tank lost all its ammo. Also, the ammo controllers are right next to the ammo room, so if you manage to get behind and explode that, you buy yourself some time as it can no longer even fire (it uses direct input ammo feeders instead of loaders so no controllers pretty much fucks it). FtD has a learning curve. Take it slow and try to learn one thing at a time. Missiles, for instance, require a missile controller connected to a launchpad. If you want multiple launchpads for one missile controller you'll need to connect them with the 6 way connectors. The launchpad shoots the missiles the direction the bullseye is facing, so build accordingly. Missile blocks go atop launchpads and they need to be EXACTLY placed on the launchpad. You can't place them upside down, but you can have them rotated on their ass. they need to form a tube, and when they do you'll see a missile spawn on it. Then you can hit q on the missile blocks to customize the missile.
The best way to get help learning FtD is to spawn enemy ships on your team in designer to see how they do it, and to post pics of what you need help with in /egg/ w/ detailed description of problem

I think it might be an issue with the control input scheme seeing as how when I access the jet's themselves they show no Positive/Negative input

I really should try to suffer through the tutorial, but that one mission with the fucking 12+ Pirate vessels shitslapping that slow ass tug or whatever the fuck it is with the blown out engine is absolute horseshit for me.

I don't know how people have problems with that mission, maybe i was lucky or wahtever, but i managed to do it on my first try, i just added a fuckton of resources to myself before starting the mision. Then, i repaired the engine, and when the fags appeared i just kept shooting them without altering my trajectory. They blowed half of the misile launchers, but the other 3 were more than enough to kill the enemies. In fact, most misiles one-shoted them.

Subnautica is very well made, has pretty awesome devs, and is fun.
It has the one quality I hope for in a game, which is that, unlike most games in this general, I feel the devs have earned my money and I am happy I bought it.

Yeah, you cant fire weapon at the same time if they arent the same tier.

And even though tey said they made all the weapons equal, they fucking lied because the smaller guns still have SIGNIFICANTLY less health , accuracy and DPS. Bigger guns are just straight up better.
