The problem is that majority of the stuff that you pay for doesn't even look like it belongs in the game. I understand Jakes point of view about having one or two special snowflakes in the team just to mix it up. But when you design the entire DLC around that concept and then another one right afterwards when the content in the base game was already lacking, that's a pretty damn big let down for most players and the reception has shown that.

Wow I tried to throw up some comparison in paint but I couldn't prove my statement.

In xcom 2 I always had the feeling that you can reach more cover spots with your soldiers each turn so you don't have to work around empty deathtraps and that the areas on the map are not as defined as in Eu/Ew (This is the vehicle repair shop, stepping on specific tiles will reveal other pods who are outside of it, This is the Parking lot which provides only cover for 2 soldiers and can be flanked easily, etc. Hope I explained it sufficient)

But it seems like this is not the case, the amount of cover is nearly the same in both games. I guess it is because you learn all the pathways on each map in Eu/Ew after a while.

I think there's definitely a trade-off to be made in randomly generated maps. On one hand it gives more replayability, on the other the hand-crafted one is always going to look more vivid and alive. I like both for different reasons, but in the end XCOM2 comes out ahead for me, probably because it has better graphics in general. EU's maps are always going to be so darn comfy to go back to though.

as far as randomly generated levels go, XCOM2 is the best that I've seen in any game

it may not be perfect for pacing the game, especially when you have to rescue a VIP on the other side of the map who happens to be on top of a building and the only way to get to that building is a screens worth of empty space, but the worlds generated by the game feel authentic and not random at all, that's probably the biggest improvement over EU in my opinion

as far as graphics go I'm a sucker for clean aesthetics rather than photorealism so I prefer the way EU looks

I love XCom 2 as much as the next guy (it's the only one I've played :O) but I do agree that they missed the atmosphere. I would've hoped for a kind of desperation, and way more gloomy. They are different games. Things like modding support graphics, randomized maps are 100% a step up, and alot of mechanics are arguably and improvement in X2.

But they have different aliens, different tactics, different art styles, different themes, and different a different strategic game.

If you have enough soldiers go for it, really no reason not to make everyone PSI. But he was mostly referring to your offensive PSIs with high will to make use of psi panic/mind control. Everyone else can easil take shit like distortion field/mind merge/psi inspire with little consequence.

Can't speak for everyone, but about the Rulers I suggested he change it so that they only react to moves which inflict damage or apply buffs/debuffs - however, when he does get a reaction on those aggressive moves he gets two of them. Allows you to reposition properly to engage an incoming ruler so it feels less bullshit while maintaining the difficulty and need for min/maxing action economy.

As to the state of his YT/Twitch I really have no idea, he's in a tough spot. I suggested he make one of those channel updates to explain his situation to the extreme cases of people who yell at him to fuck off and finish InI/LnI whenever he uploads anything but XCOM anyway though, mostly because whenever Youtubers do one of those the mindless jerkoffs in their following jump off of the "fuck you make me content"-bandwagon and jump onto the "I'm your oldest fan and I will support you no matter what!!!!"-bandwagon instead. How are you not noticing gaming evolved that automatically installs if you don't untick it and does nothing but slow your PC down.

I've used AMD for years and I've been seeing a massive decrease in the quality of drivers to the point where I've done several rollbacks just to avoid the new ones, just because you don't play effected games doesn't mean their drivers aren't aggressively shit.

I did a fair bit of research when I bought the card, the 2GB model of the 7850 was upper-mid range at the time and at the time it ran most games on high (if not max) settings on ultra, the 7870 was not that much of an upgrade (at release the 7850 benchmarked slightly higher on most games), I assure you, the 2GB model was upper-mid range, it was not a cheap card.

I know for a fact some of these were driver issues and not just my machine because on the official forums and unofficial tech support forums the devs and even AMD in some situations were saying they were driver issues.

I do need an upgrade but the drivers are not helping.

The original coydex/codex was fairly puritanical and roped into doing lewd things that she enjoyed far too much and then got flustered when commented on. The original greentexts about her were actually quite funny and thats why coydex is my favourite.

I didn't have any problems with the rulers in my recent Commander Honestman playthrough. My squad was two combat specialists, a stealth ranger, a blade ranger, a gunner grenadier, and a pistoleer sharpshooter.

Main thing was paying attention to know when the rulers would show up. Rulers can not show up on back to back missions, so after a ruler mission your next is safe. The ruler will show up guaranteed within the next three missions after that though. Get the Shadow Chamber up ASAP and look the the enemy composition. The ruler won't show up, but his followers will. If you are expecting the berserker queen and all the guerrilla ops have mutons, guess who is gonna be there.

Once you know a ruler will be there, you got to plan your tactics. You will want your stealth ranger to be scouting ahead; Battlescanners on him and the specialist's scan can be very useful. Make sure you bring DoTs like Venom Rounds since they proc on each of the ruler's actions (I like them on pistoleers). I gave the Bolt Caster and Hunter's Axe to the blademaster along with Viper Armor, then RAGE Suit. The specialists' rifles had repeaters and hair triggers on them and my bullet wizard used a hair trigger and extended mags.

So the optimal encounter is one where you scouted the ruler ahead of time and prepared an overwatch trap for it. Life is rarely this nice, but we can dream. Try to make sure your troops are scattered enough that their AoE attacks can't hit more than two at a time.

I would start off with a freeze bomb and then holo-target suppression. Next I would use my pistoleer's Lightning Hands to apply the DoT to the ruler, then follow up having my blademaster throw his axe. I also like having my specialists apply Threat Assessment Aid Protocals to themselves once they had Guardian, but they can deploy mimic beacon if there are other combatants or just shoot. At some point near here the ruler will unfreeze, so use frostbite to refreeze. If I got a Bolt Caster overwatch off I would use slash, otherwise I would fire and pray for a stun. If you have the RAGE suit, you can have him charge the ruler as a free action (that removes some armor) then shoot or slash. You should have caused enough damage to make the ruler retreat at this point if you didn't flat out kill him.

so i got the mod organizer that the pastebin recomended, but everytime i go to launch the game or just exit out from the launcher, i get an error. i don't have any mods loaded up for either time, just tyring to get it to run first at all. i have run the launcher from it's own folder with all the files that came with the download in a seprate folder, along with dropping everything into the same location as the files with the same name, but i still get the error.

there wasn't a readme that went with it, but is there a specific place that i have to put the files to get it to run smoothly?
