not looking to start a flamewar or anything, but does anyone else find bloodborne a lot less fun to play than the other games?

It's annoying, because I genuinely enjoy the games presentation and atmosphere, but the light feeling combat feels a lot less satisfying than the souls series to me.

For whatever reason, I find it hard to go back to Bloodborne after having completed it and the dlc, I always get kind of bored as well.

I've had my 2h rolling R1 parried twice today alone, anon.
The only UGS with a shorter range is the BKGS. Literally every other one has a longer range. It only LOOKS long because it's slender. I use nothing but UGSs on all of my characters. I know this from experience.

I find the more difficult ones "funner" to play, if I could say exactly why I think they're good, it's like if you took bloodborne's design ethos, but removed the bloated health feeling, and gave each boss their own unique feeling

Twin Princes, Champion/Iudex Gundyr, Nameless King, Oceiros, Soul of Cinder, Dancer of the Boreal Valley, Yhorm, Pontiff Sulyvahn, Aldrich, Dragonslayer Armour and the Abyss Watchers, vordt, old demon king and the deacons were a great set of memorable bosses.

It's probably not as difficult as bloodborne overall, but I certainly enjoyed fighting the bosses a hell of a lot more, I'm glad that there was nothing as tedious as rom, the one reborn, micolash or laurence in DS3.

I played DaS1 first, and while I think dark souls 2 did several things to detract from it's overall quality, it was still a fun game with great multiplayer.

The DLC was god-tier as well.

I feel weird about this particular title. While I beat DaS1 and DaS2 without any more issue than one might expect and blew through Bloodborne as one is wont to do, I can't get past the Boreal valley in this one. Anyone have some suggestions for making the lead up to Sulyvahn and defeating him once his fucking Stand or whatever the hell that is comes out?

Also how do I move away from just using a longsword. I keep wanting to use the various greatswords, spears, axes and hammers I find but a plussed-out longsword seems to trump everything else I find, and that's boring as hell.

While I killed Pontiff pure sorcery (aside from the final blow) I found that rolling behind him is often the best way to dodge his attacks.
His clone also basically telegraphs his shit, making it easier to dodge if you don't suck.

Also, past the elevator theres some stairs and some doggies, then a house full of invisible laserghosts, then a scythe wielding pontiff knight, if you run past all that and ignore the pontiff fog there's a gate that makes it easy to get to Pontiff from church of Yorshka.
