I have tried Phoenix mode. Good for speedrunning, but otherwise, I think Casual mode does it's job well enough in the "welcoming new players" area. I hope IS forgets about it in following installments.

You retroactively gain skills you missed as you level up.

So for example if you tech into Swordmaster at 15, you'll get all four skills in that tech tree between then and 19, from Duelist's Blow to Swordfaire.

You can use an Eternal seal to keep leveling up and getting more skills. Also you can buy skills from other players' characters if you beat their castle team.

No, not really. The kid paralogue will show up once you S rank no matter where you are in the game.

However! Unlike in Awakening, the paralogues (and DLC maps for that matter) scale to your progress in the game. This is bad news for at least some of the children, because they are nigh-impossible to complete successfully if you attempt them at the end of the game. I'm not even really sure what happened there. The events of the game seems to suggest Flora escaped from the fortress not long after you head for the Bottomless Canyon. She wouldn't escape unless Felicia was out of harm's way, and 2nd!Felicia leaves to search for Corrin after hearing back that she and Gunter went MIA on their assignment, so it'd have to be after that. Maybe Corn refusing to choose a side affected the movement of the Nohrian army similar to Takumi? Or because Garon actually needed the Ice tribe to stop Corrin (instead of pitting them against him just to make him suffer) he went easy on them during the suppression?
