Are greatswords absolutely worthless in this game? Compared to my Broadsword, my Claymore only does slightly more damage but costs so much more stamina and is so much slower to attack, I see no reason to use my Claymore except that I like the way it looks.

The DMG/Endurance ratio is pretty retarded on 2handed weapons imo.
3 swings with a 2 handed that deals like 20 dmg more than a 1 handed weapon.
Meanwhile I can get 3 full combos of 1handed attacks by spending all endurance.

Im 51 hours in so far and literally EVERYTHING feels viable in PvP right now.

Neat. Might roll an Assassin/Pyro or something as my next character. The ring is found early as hell, so that part's easy, but I can't get the dagger until Profaned Capital, so that sucks. Too bad I can't transfer items that easily between characters; I dropped two of the daggers on my very first run to Yhorn. Might be fun making a self-sufficient magic-user like that.

I get that DaS2 wasn't as well received as they'd have liked and MUH B TEAM MUH MIYAZAKI, but come the fuck on. Literally the only things from DaS2 (aside from weapons of course) where some little poison mushrooms and like 3 mimics that use the DaS2 version.

Maybe they're saving it for the DLC.

Dancer's a bit strange to me. Are her attacks delayed or something? I'm often rolling too early to dodge through her swings.
And her endless string on the second phase is terrifying.

So I have two ideas about what the Dark Firelink Shrine could be
1. Firelink Shrine in the future in the Age of Dark after the Champion of Ash doesn't link the fire
2. The real Firelink Shrine and the one we use is an illusion
If it's the first one, which is most likely, how does it work? How can the future be in the present? I imagine it has something to do with the First Flame fading, but I thought that only brought the land closer, not time itself.

Lets take a moment to appreciate how good DS3 turned out to be.
The world building is branched out and complex, almost up to the point of DS1.
The boss fights are amazing and there are only 4-5 bosses that are a bit of a pushover.
There is tons of weapons for every build and you can pick whatever skill set you like the most.

All in all I'd say they did a great job with this one.
Cant wait for all the Lore videos to come out, because I'm to lazy to figure stuff out myself.

The generic sword and spear goats in the swamp drop Bladegrass as a semi-rare drop, and two of them are situated directly outside the second bonfire there. So you can just farm them in-between the occasional summons since they're so easy to kill and respawn. Arguably easier than trying to win duels.

I got the Curved Greatsword in about 30 minutes so it wouldn't take long. Make sure you have the Crystal Rapier, and you can buy Rusted Coins infinitely later on, so use them.

They aren't straight swords so that's always a negative. But people seem to enjoy them.

In general despite the S-Sword memes, you see posts all the time about people falling in love with different kinds of weapons, so I think most of them are viable if you they suit your style.

At the very least quick weapons like Twinspears seem to be fine, but if you have a Great weapon and it doesn't crank out damage, it's an issue.

The game is generally less stingy with upgrade materials too so you can typically afford to have a few weapons brought up to date with where you are as you progress.

I did it with the Profaned Greatsword after about a dozen times. Basically it involves lots of perfect punishment and recovery, plus some of the downward moves like the weapon art on the Greatsword allow you to dodge his overhead attacks if the hitboxes are aligned right. But it was super fucking hard all the same, definitely the toughest boss so far.

The courtyard outside Pontiff Sulyvahn seems to be the hotspot right now, as it's big and open and right next to a bonfire. Aldritch Faithfuls can invade and then players waiting to fight can sit above and overlook the duels.

I've hosted a few fightclubs there before and it's pretty comfy. Usually the hosts are in dragon form and use some kind of signal to start battles (i.e. roar, breath).
