On my main character, I beat the game and didn't get a single Watchdogs or Darkmoon auto-summon, and now on my 2nd playthrough, I'm SL34 with only a +3 weapon, and I can't get any Watchdog auto invades ever.

I was doing 400 damage per swing on the first phase of Unnamed king but when it came to the second phase I was doing 80 per because I had lightning on my weapon. Because of this bullshit I couldn't beat him so I decided I'd try a different infusion and ended up beating this cunt in 1 try. First thing you have to do is find a weapon with a FUCKLOAD of hyperarmor and phantom range to even beat out the Katana(ex: I use the Great Club). Then all you have to do is time it and hit first.

So when I 2h a weapon I get 50% boosted str. Does that mean I also lose the penalty for damage for not having enough str? Or does it only mean I can use the weapon moveset correctly?

Not an argument, Souls games clearly have a grounded setting where there are laws of physics that apply, it's why your character can only jump five feet off the ground instead of flying, why your character can't do cartwheels in full armor without using a magical ring or absorbing souls and leveling up. There's magic, but even that is based in the setting and never goes beyond shooting magical prjectiles, manipulating flame, and getting divine assistance with miracles. If I used your argument I could just argue that my character should be able to do anything because magic exists.

Pyro has some good stuff. Sorc seems to be the best so far at least for me. But stay away from faith. Its fucking horrible. Unless you just want to use heals and buffs I guess, but not as the dick ass caster you want to be because offensive miracles like lightning spears are complete and utter shit. They cost enormous amounts of FP and are extremely weak in comparison to the other 2 magics.

Offensive miracles are only good if you use sunlight spear and pump faith way past 40, like to 60 or 70, and use an S scaling talisman. But by that point, you've been better off using sorcery or pyro the whole time. And your other stats are going to suffer extremely for it.

Good taste
Pyromancy is solid for pve. Spells are cheap and spammable and do solid pve damage for fairly low investment. As long as you have a decent physical weapon, you can challenge the Smouldering lake and essentially pick up all of your endgame spells less than 50% of the way through the game.

Sorcery is hot garbage currently. Soul arrows work like they did in DaS1 (completely shit tracking and speed) but with enemies that move much faster and actively dodge spells. You do fuck all damage earlygame and need a hyperspecialized build to do any damage lategame. The melee spells are really cool, but their damage is abysmal. Farron Flashsword and Soul Greatsword are getting buffed on monday so hold out on a sorcery build to see how much they actually improve them.

Supportive miracles are pretty solid. For 15 faith you get a tonne of stackable buffs that come in handy. You need to sequence break and kill the dancer early to access some of your best low-cost buffs, though.

For offensive miracles, I don't know. I'm doing a faith playthrough right now and I'll have lightning spear in about an hour, so I'll see how it pans out when I get it. I will say that I don't feel gimped at all as a faith character because blessed and lightning infusions feel very usable for pve, so my melee damage with 12/16/20 does not feel lacking earlygame.
