You can attack on wake up vs garchomp's special grab. I've tested it, you end up more or less clashing with the red effect that normally appears when you attack a grabber. I'm still getting the hang of Gengar, I mostly use Chandelure. And no problem, I'd suggest going into the combo dojo for any mon you want to try since it does show the hypnosis->grab combo. Hypnosis also goes straight into a burst attack as long as the enemy isn't on the ground recovering. Lag wasn't too noticeable until that last match.

Cresselia/Resharaim is a pretty vanilla set a lot of people tend to use.

I accidentally triggered her twice in those games when I meant to use burst. Finger just hit the L button a second too early.

The fennikin set is actually pretty good for Braixen since it offers him a good amount of coverage if your opponent gets too close.

He's very gimmicky from what I can tell. I've only been playing him since I got the game, and he gets his big damage from scaring people into blocking and fucking them up with hypnosis. He gets pretty much all of his stuff from getting people to block. Wanna fuck 'em with Sludge Bomb? Best believe you want 'em to block first. He can get a short string into shadow ball. If he decides to charge the ball instead of going for the hit, it forces a block although he can't go for Hypnosis immediately because the game will shit all over you and make it whiff for no reason.

I haven't seen him get much off Counters, but I'm sure you can get Sludge Bomb off it. It's difficult to do as the game is finnicky with it, since he has two charge moves and you might get other, less useful one.

He's not very combo heavy, I think. He's all about fucking with your opponent.

The reason she's bad up close is because she's slow and has no good "get in" move. There's a sweespot where you'll be far enough that she can't hit you with physical moves, but close enough that when she uses a projectile you can quicly get in and hit her before she recovers. That's the sweespot you want to be in. It kind of depends on which character you're using tough, since they have different ways of getting in.
