Once you get in, they generally have a hard time getting you out. Get in and make sure you stay in(command grab mixups help you not go into field phase).

Maybe, but running ninetales provides a panic button, and garde charges synergy fast so i get another panic button. Plus, worst case scenario i can gamble on the triangle and have a 33% chance of getting out, more if i can read my opponent well.

Unlike other fighting games where they can sit on their super, in this game there's a timer. You just have to play differently once they activate Synergy Burst.

They basically count as a .1% increase from what I was reading.
So if you dump every single point into a stat you get a 10% increase.
Honestly I'd say just dump then in Synergy or Defense.
Because of the way the damage in phases scale the extra attack doesn't even get used to it's full potential, but Synergy gauge gives you options and defense counters people who just dump it all into attack anyway.

The Naruto games don't have attacks tied to "Front" and "Back". Because of this, playing from the other perspective wouldn't work well in this game. Either you'd switch the controls, but then that makes it confusing when you're switching camera side where you previous Back Y now has to be input Front Y, or you don't switch the controls, but then your Back Y will be done while your characters is moving forward instead of backward.

Libre's combos are incredibly simple.

yyy down A is optimal unenhanced and provides a damage buff

forward xx forward y back A does good damage and applies a speed debuff, does way more damage when enhanced

When enhanced your BnB changes from yyy down A to yyyy down A.

yy back A is a good tick throw setup if someone blocks in duel mode.

Libre's one of the fastest and most mobile characters in the game and her pressure is strong. Abuse the dive kick in duel mode and agility in field mode.

I'm starting to think I'm going to need to get a new favourite pokemon.

I also am fairly clueless as to how to deal with it, as I've yet to play anybody but Chandelure. Just block most of my stuff in field mode and try to push me into a corner, since once you're close I lack a way to get you back out. Attacking from the air works fairly well in duel phase, since I usually can't react to use my anti-air in time unless I predict it and even if I block it I don't have anything fast enough to punish you for it.

Not the same thing. In a regular fighting game, you can switch side with the opponent but you're still at a profile, your perspective from the camera hasn't changed. The way you're talking about playing from the other side, you wouldn't have switched side, you'd be playing from a different camera angle. Keep in mind that the way the game currently works, you're always playing from the same camera perspective. In Naruto, the character will actually switch side during battle. The character who has his back turned to the camera won't necessaily be the same character for all the battle, regardless of if you're playing single player, local versus or online versus, so all players should be used to playing from both perspective. Pokken doesn't have that. There's no side-switching in Pokken. The camera with the back turned to his camera will be the same (yours) throughout all the battles, in every mode your play, with no mode letting you play the other way. This means that being Player 2 and Local Versus would be the only time you'd ever play with a different camera angle and different control cheme.

I have a lot of trouble with charizards, to be honest. Your forward armor punch can be charged up and easily run down Braixen. Once you get her in a corner, its over.

Practicing the triangle and CADC are both healthy, CADC more against Braixen. I don't think I grabbed once, but I was rarely punished with a counter attack.

Learning the timing of attacks and what combos into what will help you too. Basically, the more you play the better you will do against them. And its not like you did bad at all in our games. ggs.

Still more disappointed that they used a slot for Original Character Do Not Steal Shadow Mewtwo who has the super unique moveset of LOTS OF DARK PURPLE STUFF AND BEAMS everywhere. They could have instead picked a naturally dark and edgy Pokemon for the boss like Giratina or Deoxys. Deoxys shape shifting mechanic would have probably been pretty cool to implement as well, and give us a Stance character.

1. Every other mode of play doesn't require it. You have two screen in arcades. You have two screen online. You only need one screen in single-player.

In Naruto, Up is Up and Left is Left.
In Pokken, Up is Forward and Left is Left Relative To The Opponent.
In both games it's common when you're close to each other for the characters to be to the left and right of each other, rather than being in front or back. Technically speaking, in Naruto the game still considers one character to be the "front" character and another one to be the "back" character, but the player doesn't see it at this angle; and the player doesn't care, because it doesn't change anything in Naruto, since Up is always Up and Down is always Down. If you're Left of the opponent and want to go away from the opponent, you press Left, regardless of whether you're the Front or Back character, because the control scheme doesn't change. In Pokken, if you're in Field Phase and you're currently Left of the oppoent and want to go away from the opponent, you press Down, because Down is Backward. However, if you include side switching, then Down would change depending on which side you're on, because for the Back character, Down would not be Forward. So in those Left-and-Right situations, you'd be unsure which side you're currently on and wouldn't know if you're supposed to press Down or Up to get away. This would get even more confusing during Jumps, since when you jump the camera shifts from a bird perspective to see below you and it's possible for the opponent to be below you.

Yes, it bothers me how some buttons + directions just do nothing (Or rather, just do the same as pressing the button with no direction).
In Duel Phase, there's a move for all buttons + direction while on the ground, meaning five attacks per buttons. That's 15 moves. Some characters have even more, like Gardevoir who has follow-ups on her Back A and Diagonals let her angle her Up or Down A. In Field Phase, this is only true for the Y Button (Left and Right Y are just the same move done from left or the right, but it works). There's no Back or Up X, it just does neutral X if you input that, and Left and Right X are just regular X done with a VERY SLIGHTLY different angle. And there's a Forward and Back A, but no side A for most characters (There are exceptions with some characters where Side A let you angle your neutral A, like PikaLibre)
Then in the air for most characters all you have is three attacks because there's three buttons, in both Phases. Again there's a few exception with some characters being able to angle their attacks using a direction, but there could be a lot more.
