You have to collect all dark versions of the legendary weapons and bring them to the forest of Moore so you can absorb evil spirits and kill Bartz. After you get the weapons and become a warlock you rape Faris, Lenna and Krile and make them your slaves with your mind control magic and then go kill Bartz. The Humans in FFIX descended from the Summoners, it's explained in Memoria. The reason why they cannot summon wasn't necessarily because they lack horns, it's because they lost faith on the Eidolons. As a heads up, if THIS orbfest works like the one before that kept rolling into new phases (not the weekend ones), as long as you're still in an earlier phase (by being in combat during the change), you can remain in it indefinitely during the orbfest period if you don't leave the dungeon.

So if you want to keep stocking up on Black, Dark, and Lightning, you can.

In Record Keeper, are 3-4* physical skills good enough to build a non-retaliate party? Or should I just keep double hitting Gilgamesh and grind more until I get R4 on a good set of 5* skills?

Lifesiphon sounds good but only if I manage to get some good relics on the SSBfest (and I know I will get 400 mythrils worth in 3*), but I noticed that some skills like elemental jumps are quite strong. I'm just unsure about how good they are on +90 fights.
I can craft and hone a good set of black and white spells already, but only for one or two black mages.
I just wanted to try something different that is good enough for me to beat some high level (but possibly not endgame) content.

Elemental Jumps should be considered 4* skills. Lifesiphon and good SSBs are enough to carry a non-reta team physical team. If you don't have strong SBs, native Wall/Boosts, or good 4* skills, then stick to retaliate as it is very powerful.
