Lava area and some parts of the core. Lazer and treadmill puzzles weren't so fun. Lava area had less interesting environment but Mettaton made it a little fun. Mostly I just hoped for phone call comments from Papyrus and the fish.

Hotland is annoying as fuck. Unending, boring puzzles that do nothing but irritate you. There's probably twice as many puzzles in Hotland as there is in the rest of the game combined. Not to mention Alphys's constant annoying texting jokes that get old about the 4th time in. Mettaton was the only thing that made the area salvageable, especially his reveal that Alphys was playing you to try and seem like the hero.

I know. I love the true lab itself. That's why I think the way it ends, with just Alphys giving a pep talk to herself, bothers me.
A big part of Alphys' motivation for keeping the Amalgamates a secret was that she was afraid of how people would react, so I just figure that we should've seen people reacting. Meeting the Amalgamates on the victory lap is a bit after-the-fact.

It is, yeah. She was too afraid to tell anyone about what she had unwittingly done, but she had driven herself into a corner by thinking that she had just brought them to life before things went south.

It's not like she did any of it out of malice, though. She was about to commit suicide when she first met Undyne, after all. And it's the fact that she really does feel guilty and really does want to face her judgement in the end is what makes me like her a lot. That's why the fact they kind of glossed over that part bothers me.
