Nah, we're just bored. The people who got in last weekend had their fill of Overwatch and are now either done with it or salty that they can't play anymore. People who didn't get in on the weekend are just salty that everybody got a chance to play but them. People who are in the full beta are just playing the game. Reminds me of the MGSV marketing campaign. Regardless of how the game turned out for you, they did a good job building hype over a VERY long period of time.

How? Few and far between gameplay videos revealing some new things and always making it clear there was more we didn't see. Cryptic trailers that don't reveal much of the story. there wasn't much to reveal, turns out

Overwatch? We know every hero. We know a bunch of maps but who gets excited about new maps for a game they haven't played? We know the game modes, the gameplay. Who does what, their back stories. We've got an absolutely insane amount of gameplay footage available thanks to streams. We know everything. Blizzard just blew their load all over us and gave us everything about Overwatch, then said "Now stay hyped for half a year!"

The magic of Overwatch is already dead to me. I'm used to it's gimmick and it feels normal. Which is fine, that was going to happen anyways, but usually it happens after I've been playing the game for a while.

can the overwatch models be modded into some other FPS?

I really need to see widowmaker, symmetra and tracer again, they are the light of my life, mercy without the thing covering her butt would be nice too.

The last "closed betas" I took part of were buggy, laggy, had server problems, had tons of issues and stuff kept crashing and shit.

The "stress test" weekend had maybe TWO crashes in the ~30 hours I played and I lagged maybe 5 times total.

No game breaking bugs in any of my games, but apparently there's some mei tracer bug or something. No real character imbalances or overall useless or overpowered beyond belief characters, core mechanics seem functioning and a pretty much everything working as it should be. The entire roster is in, as well as 8 maps.

The game is pretty much near finished at this point.

So why the fuck is it still in closed beta? This isn't a closed beta AT ALL, it's a pre-launch open beta version of the game being mislabeled as "closed beta" with incredibly limited access to it.

Blizzard are being complete cunts and there's no reason the game should be in closed beta in it's current state.

The worst part is I have multiple friends with beta access that DONT EVEN HAVE THE GAME FUCKING INSTALLED ON THEIR COMPUTER.

They will never, ever play the game. They won't let me access it because "muh bnet account". One of them is a Blizzard employee who gives me lots of goodies, but even they are not allowed to give out beta keys for overwatch as there are "no beta keys, only account flagging".

So because I'm not on the friends and family beta list, a journalist, e celeb, or streamer, I don't get access to the game.

I can't even give them $40-60 to pre-order the game to buy into beta access. I can buy into alpha states of so many, many other games or founder pack beta access to dozens and dozens of games.

Yet, this game, one that is nearly 100% finished, that has the entire roster, 8 maps, pretty good balance and all mechanics working with little bugs, I can't.

What the fuck is wrong with Blizzard? Do they honestly expect us to all sit here for 6 months staying hyped for their game?

1 or two months, ok, that's understandable. But SIX FUCKING MONTHS? No, that's half a fucking year of waiting to play a nearly finished game.

My first MMO was final fantasy 11, the best MMO ever created.
WOW was only good for PVP, it had god awful PVE. WOTLK had tons better PVE but it was still worse PVE than FFXI ever had.

If vanilla WOW PVP wasn't so good and fun I would've quit at level40, I kept getting characters to 40-45 and would just pvp all day and then eventually struggle through the boring grind of awful WOW solo leveling once a week.

They've been pouring tons of time, money, and man power into it (rotating people off wow expansions, diablo 3, etc) to work on it since like WoTLK or something.
Even though Titan Destiny 2.0 got scrapped, they were still able to salvage the art assets, terrain editor, probably some of the voice assets (not that it matters, voice actors in the west are cheap as shit and have no rights)

It's certainly confusing, we have all the characters and a decent amount of maps but the beta is still being held to just a small group of people. I just can't see why they aren't pushing the game out to more people. I would say maybe it's because they still want to add more characters or a new totally different game mode but we already know this is the full release roster and if they did have another game mode in the works NOW would be the time for people to be testing it.

All they need to do is tweak a few characters slightly, add a killfeed, and maybe brush up the UI. None of these are massive things that would require only a friends and family and streamers beta.

First sign is usually all your team walks right up to the enemy spawn instead of hunkering down on or very close to the point. as far as I'm concerned: two heroes have a reason to even have line of sight to the attackers spawn: Mei to fuck them with a frostwall, and Widow to maybe get a cheeky spawn kill and then fuck off again.
Then they either get overrun, or ignored.

Yes. She can't take damage, but she can make sure everyone takes a little extra, and she can deal a lot of up close damage, as well as long range damage over time. Teleporter is real nice on defense and late game offense.

Right-click spam locks down a hallway but sucks at sharp corner denial. Fine ability.

Left-click is... ok, but you need to be so fucking close to the other person that it's almost impossible for much higher-damage weapons / melee attacks to not kill you first. If a reinhardt lets you drain their shield and doesn't just two-shot you they may be retarded. Very cool that it retains its "charge" between firing it- most similar weapons in other games go empty as soon as you let go.

Turrets are absurd against some characters and absolute garbage against others, but if the enemy is even mildly aware of them as anyone they basically don't exist. Explosives in particular are a little too effective against them.

Teleporter is good for both offense and defense (except on some defense maps where the point is directly outside the spawn), but her abilities are so defensive it's hard to justify playing her to attack.
