I am putting together a flowchart (a-la-/mu/) of music similar to LiS

I have a torrent of all the games music, Morali's OST, the Vortex Club party, all the licensed songs (most in lossless format), and all the albums they were taken from.

Max got really drunk after one sip of wine and started to be all touchy-feely with Chloe. Couldn't play past Episode 1. Once Max started babbling about her scholarship, future and what not, the realization that none of this matters just drained all enjoyment from the game.

They either give her a longer face, like Chloe's.
Or leave they leave out the freckles. Or they go crazy and out them everywhere.
Also the eyes, she always has a little bit of eyeliner and forgetting it when trying to make a detailed drawing just makes her face look different.

I think that's why this game works better for either 3D renders with the per-existing models, or for a more cartoon/ minimal style where you can still have the things like freckles but won't have to worry about every little detail.
Of course there are some artists who can draw detailed LiS stuff very well, but it's a rarity.

What are some other games with teenage/college age protagonists set in high schools/campuses or otherwise "normal" settings? I know there is plenty of that stuff set in Japan but I'm looking for something like LIS that would take place in America or Europe.

The only thing that comes to mind is Until Dawn, and two of those godawful Obscure games.
Neither ot these are comfy though. Not like that's a requirement, but I'd want something else than horror stories.

The only other thing I can think of is Rockstar's Bully.


On that note any LIS related TV shows aside of Twin Peaks?
Can be anime or cartoons too.

I know its not exactly what you're looking for, but Skins Season 1 nailed the relationship between genuine coming of age drama and absurdity for me. All the characters are flawed as fuck, even the seemingly immaculate main character experiences a massive fall from grace, yet lovable all the same. The transition from Generation 1 to 2 is also how I'm hoping DontNod will handle Season 1 to 2.

Bummer, I don't want to wait five years, and I don't trust Dontnod anymore. They showed their true colors with how they handled the story.
But if there is one thing LIS was good at it gathered enough popularity for others to realize there is untapped potential in these kind of games (narrative driven, focused on young adult drama with supernatural elements etc) and I'm hoping there will be more like it in future.
