In fallout 3 and NV I pretty much exclusively used VATS because ammo is so scarce, firing from the hip was something only done in panic.

Very simply: Vats would freeze time so you could highlight the parts of the enemy you want to hit (head for quickest kill, weapon arm to disarm them). It was the most efficient way to dispatch an enemy so helped save ammo in a world where you cant craft ammo so have to scavenge or buy everything.

Now it just slightly slows down time, so whilst you're in VATS an enemy can move behind cover or wose run right up to you and start attacking.

If you're using a mouse you can shoot more accurately than VATS ever can, even in NV/FO3. FO4 just makes the difference even more extreme.

I get that glitch at the quarry. LOD fails to remove the distant texture, though collision is disabled on it. The actual textures are still loaded underneath. Exiting to the main menu and reloading at the actual spot prevents it.

LOD is shitting its self. Those are not low res textures, those are textures for objects that are meant to be FAR away. The problem is, this shit seemingly has a memory leak and will eat and eat all of your ram until it can't feasibly load anymore textures in a good timeframe, eventually it'l stop being able to load in objects too.

Just find some hobby that depends on other people. Use meetup or such to find groups and go hicking, or whatever. Even volunteer work, for crying out loud. I actually met my girlfriend while serving in a soup-kitchen for homeless people and she's the sweetest person I've ever met. (But yeah don't go into those with a goal to find a girl or anything or else you'll pass as a creep).

Volunteers are generally very nice and including people by nature so it's super easy to fit in and make friends. Plus you'll feel better knowing you're helping other people instead of being a a worthless person who contributes nothing to society and your fellow man.

It means that Diamond City is marked on your map, so you can fast travel to it.

It's only useless if you know where Diamond City is or have discovered it already.

On the average playthrough you learn about Diamond City through the Minutemen, finding that early enough allows you to bypass that.

All damage is lowered relative to your armor class of that respective damage type. Hazmat suit for example stops basically all radiation, but doesn't protect you from bullets at all.

There are no enemies that are hard to hit. All the humanoid enemies that run around eventually take cover and you can pop their heads off all day. Fallout 4 makes any Mass Effect game seem very small and linear in comparison. Also it's a question of what setting you prefer, post-apocalysm or sci-fi. As far as RPing goes it depends on what you want, in ME you can only be bleeding heart good or pragmatic good. In FO4 you can be straight out evil if you wish to and kill everything. On the other hand ME has a better story (if we look at the whole picture, not just the individual games) and by far more interesting characters. Then there is character creation and customisation, which is by far freer in FO4. So I'd say it's neither here or there, none of them are clearly superior.

The lighting is horrendous. If you look at the fallout 4 main plugin you can see they oversautrated the ambience levels and even introduced a new ambient light source to make things even more fucking unrealistic. Hell I think they even put in a enb into the game, because I've removed ALL sources of ambience from lights, light templates, cells, even fucking weather, and there's still fucking ambient light everywhere.

Even unpowered, Power Armor increases your Capacity to carry things. You can also dump all of your items into a storage box of any kind, even a dead body and tell your companion to pick it up (if you have a lot of shit it'll take awhile) and they can go over how much they can carry; like in other Beth games.

What high level mods are worth getting for power armour?

I was thinking targetting HUD for the helmet, and either stealth boy (invisible when crouching, easier to make money stealing) or jet pack because of the novelty.

And yeah the game is easy mode as fuck late game with this power armour. Bosses are like kittens against it.

Try this in "C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\My Games\Fallout4:

1. Open Fallout4.ini and find bNvGodraysEnable. Change that to 0.

Also, if the devs intended experience didn't include a hard or survival mode they wouldn't have put it in.

Seems like difficulty works exactly same as any Bethesda game including New Vegas. But yeah Survival and Very Hard are identical apart from slowed down health regen and more legendary spawn on Survival
