So I got the ring swap macro thing working, well kinda.
It works like 99% of the time, the thing is you still kinda need to be able to predict if the parry is gonna go through or not, but I guess you could just train yourself to be ready on the hotkey.

i posted this last night in the last general but its a different time of day now and i didnt get many responses:

im returning to dark souls 1 after not having played in years, i lost all my save files somehow so im trying to recreate this one super tryhard build i used to have that wasnt very popular but was posted a few times in these generals back then. pic related is what i was able to come up with from memory

general idea was to DMB and spam r1 while facetanking any damage, outdpsing them with high vit and poise. GMB is for sorcery users, while demon's spear is for poking. used to turn all the backstab fishing giantdads into swiss cheese.

anyone here happen to know anything about this build?

It's in Shulva, when you're running up that path to the tower that leads to the bonfire, you'll find one of those elevators down the cliff. Just fall to the elevator and hit switch surrounded by arrows to take you up.

Okay, so I just beat Dark Souls 1 again as a depraved, and I'm on NG+. I mainly handled magic and the Black Knight Sword, which made most of the game a breeze. I'm hoping that if I do get myself to keep going with this character, I can do a new playstyle or weapon set that might work well with my build.

They're not even 'rushed' they're just flat-out unfinished.
They weren't used in the original game outside of NG+ things Betwixt because they weren't actually done. The tall grass just hid their fucked walk cycle and the encounter lasts all of 10 seconds so you don't have time to notice how broken they were.

A lot of people prefer the black knight halberd, but you don't have the STR to one hand it so you'd be missing out on half the move set. Halberds are fun, but you'll want to be careful using them, since if you wiff you'll get a stumble animation.

If you have them already, maybe try giving the vanilla halberd or the Gargoyle's Halberd a try before dumping a bunch of levels on BKH since you already have the stats for both of those. Also those two being enchantable (on normal or raw path) is a nice advantage for you since you're a magic build.

I personally prefer vanilla move set personally because unlike the standard moveset on most other Halberds the R1s have pokes. I'd just equip both and see which you like the moveset best on. They're pretty similar in stats (Gargoyle has a little better base damage, Halberd has a bit better scaling)

Roaring halberd would be good. It scales only on dex and dark, but infuse it with dark and it hits like a truck. Should do well. Or try the silverblack spear, another good choice to keep your distance from the annoying shits in brume.

Replaying Demon's Souls after having abandoned my first run. My world tendency suddenly reset in Boletaria. I don't think that Ostrava died, but there I am, gone from pure white to neutral. Does killing executioner Miralda hurt your world tendency or should I be saying a small prayer for Ostrava?

Killing Miralda in body form affects your world tendency by quite a bit. Should be enough to put you at or close to neutral. Basically killing the body form of that world's associated NPC/Phantom sets you back towards black because they always show up at pure white and killing their black phantom form pushes you towards white because they always show up on pure black.

The first time I had a host pop a seed on me in Dragon Shrine, I had no idea the invader could end up aggro-ing the dragon knights as well if he ignored the Drakekeepers.

Well that's exactly what I did and as I got to the bonfire, the host was blocking the stairs. I had no idea I had dragged half the map along with me (and apparently neither did the host) but I wanted to get past him so I forced my past and then turned around just in time to watch the host get backstabbed by one of the dragon knights. Good times.

I haven't fought Alonne myself so I don't know exactly how he works, but a quick glance at the Wikidot shows the Chaos Rapier even fully upgraded doesn't do a great deal of damage AND that Alonne is highly resistant to the fire damage that it happens to do. What I tell most people is, grab a mace and upgrade it. It will carry you damn near through the whole game.

If you've got attunment slots to spare and you can't use any other buffs effectively, go for it. It's free extra damage that lasts the full 90 seconds with a good amount of casts, and if you're using a dex weapon with rapid attacks the more damage per hit you can do the better.

There are actually different stagger tiers in BB. Heavy weapons like the kirkhammer have the highest stagger and you can do perpetual limb breaks on bosses to effectively stunlock them.
