damn is the PS4 suppose to run hot? I've been downloading destiny and playing Bloodborne, and after like half an hour of that my PS4 was running pretty hot on the top.

I can see the Old Hunters DLC up for preorder on the PS store website, but if I search for it on the PS4's Store I can't see it, only the Bloodborne Complete Edition comes up. Anyone else having this issue? Reposting from last thread, sorry.

I'll be getting this game soon, and while I'm trying not to spoil much of it, I'm interested in something about the 'parry' system. If I understand it correctly, you have to shoot enemies as they're in a attack animation, right? How does this work for pvp? Is it delayed similarly to dark souls in that you have to predict the attack ahead of time?

there's really no delay in pvp but the window is generally shorter on human opponents, including npcs, than it is on standard enemies
the only thing you have to really predict before hand is a heal because the parry window on healing is tiny as fuck

The combat is more polished you can do two or three hits in one animation, but that shit doesn't work well for PvE because is not well balanced, the problem is enemies are too fast, poise is non-existent so while it works for some enemies at the beginning, in late game enemies stagger you by sneezing so you will end playing the game like the old soul games, however when you face a hunter that's when the combat gets good because all the intented principles work when you 1v1 a player.

Contrary to the popular opinion the combat works much better in PvP than PvE, the problem is invasions are obtuse as they get you need a bell maiden in order to invade and you find those in two locations, however don't let this discourage you, try to pvp in fight clubs.

The fun part is that, in theory, invasions would work fucking great for chalices. Whenever a player makes a new dungeon, there's a 1/20 chance per floor to have a sinister bell maiden. That means if 100 people make a new FRC in one day, about 20 of those will be invadeable and those poor fuckers won't know where the maiden is.

Once SRRC gets fixed, that's going to be the end game of BB.

So do we know all the DLC weapons' stat requirements yet?

I am trying to get preped for the DLC by making a build that can immediately equip them all.

So far I have 30/20/30/15/18/25 That's around level 88, It lets you use everything in the base game except a call beyond. It should also cover the Bow and the Pizza Cutter so far.

Assuming none of the DLC items have huge requirements, it should also let you use a call beyond and get 50 or almost 50 Vit by level 125.

Actually the premise of the character is being able to use everything in the game period without being severely over-levelled. That includes the gear from the base game. The idea is to have a character that allows you to test gear and see if you like it before you spend large amounts of time building around a piece of gear, only to realize you don't like it.

People say you're supposed to make your characters around your weapons in Bloodborne, but that really only applies to a couple of them (Tonitrus and Wheel, for the most part). A 10str/50skl build can use Cane, BoM, BB, Reiter, and soon Bowblade, all optimally. A 50str/12skl build can use Hammer, Axe, Wheel, arguably Claws and Saw Cleaver, soon Saw Mill, and with 15 skill Threaded Cleaver. An arcane build can use everything except BoM, BB, Bow, Reiter, Rifle, and Chikage. Bloodtinge builds are the only ones with a weapon selection that doesn't resemble Demon's Souls in some way.

It's uploading your savefile to the PSN cloud or your USB drive, doing some RNG related shit and copying your savefile back to the system storage if things go wrong. For example, when farming +27.2% phys radials, quit the game before you traverse the fog gate, upload your savefile, kill the boss and if the gem you get is shit, then you copy your savefile back onto your PS4 and fight the boss again. For LHB being a mass produced knockoff of Ludwig's original weapon, that comes from LHB in fact being a mass produced weapon when From's Moonlight Greatsword was only ever a unique, singular weapon. Radiant Sword Hunter Badge says it's used by the "heirs to the will of Ludwig", and yet LHB isn't particularly radiant in any way and Ludwig's version doesn't seem to have its shiny blue moonlight blade when its on his back.

Yeah, it seems Ludwig has it on his back during the fight. The blue aura effect is most likely the "transformed" state of the weapon.

Which probably means Ludwig used the true Holy Blade (with actual "holy" power and shit) and the LHB is just a knock-off mass produced model done by the Church, in his memory.

So I did my first playthrough of this game when it first came out and I loved it but then I really didn't play it very much after that. The other day I triedp laying it again on a bloodtinge build I had started and was at Vicar Amelia and between the gunspear's moveset feeling like shit and being incredibly rusty I got destroyed and I felt kind of locked into the gunspear since AFAIK it's the only bloodtinge weapon for a while.
I'm thinking of starting another new character but I'm not really sure what I should do. Do you guys have any recommendations for fun builds? On my first playthrough I basically used the axe the whole game.

The only truly viable Blt build weapon, pre-DLC, is the Chikage. I'd hold off on that until you see the other weapons.

If you like co-op and/or PvP, I highly recommend a twink, a BL43 character with either

>damage stat to 25, base stats for everything else with the extra in vit until 43
It's super fun to completely destroy shit, whether it's 3v1 other players, or helping some random dude that has probably been ringing his bell for a boss for a good 30 minutes.

To top it off, you can ring either bell at just about any location in the game and get action.

Other than that, you just typically have your basic Str, Skl, Arc build, each letting you have access to mostly all the weapons.
Blt is super boring if you ask me, I got my Chikage to 50 before I quit out.

Assuming you do all the optional bosses (cleric beast, BSB, etc.) then you won't need 30 vit until you get to the point in the game where you have already gotten 20 vit then 20 end. That's also approximately where you will start unlocking the more desirable weapons which is why that's when you start getting the base stats for them.

Forgot to mention you either have to have some gud, or people to help with bosses, as you have to go through the entirety of CD's to allow yourself to farm FRC's for top-tier gems.

If you don't want to do that, because it's hard, annoying, or time-consuming (all are definitely true), you can always just get 19.8% gems from Mensis, farmed from Winter Lanterns.
You'll still be pretty OP, but not stupid-as-hell-cheatcodes OP.

You missed Simon's Bowblade, and possibly the cover weapon. Beast mode is probably not tied to the Beast Claw or even a special new Beast Claw, seeing as "transformation" (beasthood) is a status effect.

Yes, it's probably a mini-abhorrent beast. Suspicious man is the one who gives you beast pellets like they're a street drug, and implies he takes them as well. Both the game and the manual talk about the active beasthood state (claws out/pellet consumed) as if you're literally transformed into a beast during it, and the Yharnamites who are slowly turning into beasts don't realize that they are. I believe the implication is that abhorrent beast is supposed to show you what kind of monster you transform into, and it's just that you aren't able to see yourself as anything other than human. Suspicious man playing the "you're just like me" card as hard as possible, as it were.
