There is Frisk, Chara and YouThePlayer. Chara was meant to be given your default RPG name so Chara was meant to be YouThePlayer. The end of Genocide go meta on your ass and make YouThePlayerCharacter no longer YouThePlayer making it into a whole new being which most people know as Chara.

Frisk is the character as s/he meant to be. Chara is the corruption of Frisk due to YouThePlayer being a natural ass when it comes to RPGs. At the end of Genocide Chara kills YouThePlayer then strike a deal to get the soul of YOU.

It is extremely meta and kinda meant to be confusing. Just know once Chara become her own being and is no longer YouThePlayer then you had fuck up.
