That poster is speaking like he never actually watched the fucking movies. Jason was never moving in absurd ways in the first 7. In Parts 2 - 4 he ran, he didn't become a fast walking zombie until Part 6. Starting with Part 8 is when he started teleporting. In Part 8 there's a scene where a professor is running AWAY from Jason and into a building on the opposite side of the street. Then he immediately get's thrown through the second story window as he enters it as if Jason was somehow already inside. Part 8 is really the only movie at all where he teleports.

In 6 and 7 he was a slow moving zombie but he used stealth to catch his victims, he never engaged them in any prolonged chase sequences.

I wouldn't call it a "good" franchise. I'm a huge fan of the movies but I know they're shit. All fans know they're garbage. Seems as if you watched them as a kid before you had the ability to critically evaluate them. All F13 movies are shit, Part 4 and 6 are the closest you get to them being genuinely good movies. 6 is the first time a sequel becomes a full blown comedy and embraces the ridiculousness, 4's strength lies in it's characters.

The appeal of these movies lie in the 80s atmosphere, grainy film quality, camp setting and inane, pointless dialogue with 80% of these movies are composed of. It's hard to articulate why but it's all very comfy to watch.

They're very entertaining movies. Granted, they get less scary as they go on, and weren't all too scary to begin with, but there's a brilliantly suspenseful atmosphere that keeps things intense. The first few Frankenstein movies did this. This game is a lot more like playing a horror movie. There's a little more depth to ways you can win, environments are designed around places from the movies so they actually look nicer than just tall grass and garbage everywhere. Jason can kill counselors via executions that he either has equipped or environmental kills, or if you want you can just whack them until they die.

Killing Jason requires more teamwork than simply escaping, and the requirements for it are one shot attempts. Currently with a group of randoms you're very unlikely to actually succeed.

If you look at your mini-map while moving around, your little arrow emits a white circle indicating that you are making noise (characters with higher stealth stats make less noise and when crouched down basically make no noise). Jason can see those white circles being emitted.

Sense I think it partially independent from that. High stealth characters tend to not be sensed but I think things like fear can affect you being sensed so composure helps with that as well.

There is no reason why counselors should be able to hit and kill each other. I can't fathom why they included the ability to betray each other in a game about surviving together. When you see another counselor moving towards you, it's almost as troublesome as seeing Jason because at least one counselor in every lobby just wants to kill the other counselors. The fix is extremely simple: remove it.

If you can come up with an excellent reason off the top of your head why friendly fire should be on, you might convince me otherwise. But if you have to think up some silly, minor advantage just to justify it, you need to admit it's a bad mechanic.
