Hard Mode: You played the game before
Pic related. The story and music was good but it still didn't changed the fact that the gameplay design was absolute shit. 90% of the time, you're spamming your best spell and attack combo with zero variety. There is little incentive to shop, do side quests, and talk to NPCs because they felt like they were tacked on just for the sake of making the game a RPG. I would not recommend the game - listening to the OST is enough for the Nier experience

Depends what races you want to play. The first one is great, probably my favorite total war ever and this is coming from someone who didn't even buy it until it was ridiculously on humble bundle because Rome 2 was so shit and I had absolutely no faith in CA after that.
2 is really just an expansion, an expansion that has as much, if not more, content as the first game did on release. Except it's looking far more refined and unique.
If you want to play one of the races coming in 2 I'd say hold out for it. If you really wanna play a race from the first game you could give it a go.

Try listing it for more on Craigslist or eBay first and then sell it to GameStop if no one's interested. You have a little bit of time before it's value will be gone, certainly enough to try and maximize what you get.
