Toadette.
wow it's fucking dead.
I've been waiting for this.
I didn't know that randoms meant you couldn't pick your CC class. What is this shit?
Just tried VR for the first time and my mind IS FUCKING BLOWN, /v/!
>it was that low end Samsumg one!
The shit was fucking awesome and zero nausea too (I thought I would have a lot of problems with motion sickness). There was a horror demo... so goooood.
This shit is the 2D to 3D transition moment all over again. I am definitely a believer now.
I cant imagine how amazing PSVR/Rift/Vive must be! Resident Evil 7... damn. When the hardware becomes cheaper, this is going to be the biggest thing ever.
Edit: I gotta say though, I am having a PRETTY BAD headache right now. Like, really bad. But I would guess this is normal for VR first timers?
>>376825654
Be careful. /v/ can't afford VR so they hate it.
I got a free google cardboard and have been a believer in the technology.
Too bad I'm too cheap to turn on the AC and my glasses quickly fog up.
>>376825654
How do you edit your post?
Edit: nvm got it, never knew there was this function.
>Games not decided by who has the better players, but by who has the bigger retards and/or people who intentionally throw the game.
Nice genre.
>>376825565
That's why there is an mmr system that puts you and other people into matches with similar skill.
For the system to understand where you belong it doesn take way more games than the required 10. The most games played, the more clear it is where you belong. That's why a single lost match can be annoying, but in the long run the better person will win more often and reach higher ranks. It's like poker where a single round also doesn't mean much and you see the result of the single person in the long run.
Also someone with 300 games in silver clearly belongs where he is, so muh team as an argument loses weight the more games the person has
>game isnt won by the better players, its lost by the worse players
????
>>376826068
You are talking about the ranking, but this an issues with the core game design.
What's the next open world fantasy game we should be looking forwards towards?
Elder Scrolls VI? Final Fantasy XVI?
The last good open world RPG game was Gothic 2 and it came out on 2002
Anything after that is trash
Anything in the future will be trash
Open world meme should just die out
Final Fantasy's gone from fantasy to Final Sci-Fi.
They should go back to the earlier games, it's gotten stale.

How come jap developers have been so much better at soundtracks than western ones this year, or infact the past 5?
>different culture
>cost too much money to create a soundtrack that isn't cinematic orchestra sounding
>more strict deadlines so spending time directing musicians to create a unique sounding soundtrack takes too much time
>the developers don't think too much about what the music should sound like so they're fine with movie orchestra music
>>376825364
Japanese slaves costs less.
>>376825364
Not only soundtracks but games as a whole.
West got BTFO hard.
Thanks Japan for trying to save this industry and fuck the west.
Face it, /v/:
MGSV (GZ+TPP) is the best game of the last 10 years, and makes a compelling argument for best MGS game of all time.
The most common and vociferous arguments against it are mostly extraneous to the shipped content (marketing, personal hype, and content deemed unsuitable for release [Chapter 3]), unreasonable expectations of the open world genre (>muh heavily populated wilderness), or misunderstanding the ingenuity of plot delivery (the threat to spoken language is conveyed mostly through the spoken language itself [cassette tapes]).
You are not a video game director, as much as you fashion yourself to be one.

V was disappointing. The game completely falls apart after the first chapter. Missions with no substance were getting repetitive, I just wanted to finish the game already, before I know it I've finished the game and there was nothing really there in terms of story and gameplay. Nothing changed. No buildup whatsoever. The 2nd chapter was bullshit.
cool story bro
>>376824723
The core game (i.e. the narrative which follows the same arc as every single MGS game before it) is Chapter 1. Chapter 2 is the epilogue.
Is using your valuable items instead of hoarding them the right thing to do, or a sign of weakness?
>>376825351
Sell 'em.
Depends on the game. In ff6 there really is no reason to ever need to use healing items since anyone can learn magic in that game.
In SMT using items makes more sense
neither, game doesn't even give you a reason to use them
>tfw things get intense enough that you actually reach for your items
Am I the only one that liked the malaria and gun jamming in this game?
I get that it could have been balanced better, but seriously, no one else sees why they had these things?
gun jamming was fine
malaria was just annoying and nothing else
It's not that they don't get the appeal, it's that any hinderance on "dewin wut I wunt" is seen as a negative to some people. They started screaming artificial difficulty like retards.
>>376825561
It was a last minute, "What ELSE can we do to make spontaneity and need for improvisation the key elements in this game?" mechanical addition to the game.
That's what this whole game feels like to me. The developers did what they could to create a sense of "you can plan, but shit's gonna go south" in every encounter. I think it worked at the time. I wouldn't want to see a similar mechanic again in a game, but I think it's still an attempt worth noting.
the only people complaining about console exclusives as a concept are pc gamers, hmmmmmmm.

>>376825229
What's with the retarded stretching in that picture?
Well, when you have not many of them on your platform that are worthwhile, you will beg for others games.
>>376825229
Everyone with half a brain knows exclusives are anti consumer.
Everyone who supports them should be surgically extracted.
I bet every single one of you had to reference a guide at least several times.
I bet only like 5 people here even played it.I beat all 3 endings with no help.
>>376825208
I didn't play this garbage
>>376825208
You don't need reference guides to use one hand.
So since honeymoon for this game is over, and people start to look at this game critically, can we acknowledge that this is a shitty game and start harassing all gay weeb memers to move to /VG/?
It's a great game.
Also persona 5 is shit.
It was a good game but overrated

Official poll
At least it isn't literally who like last year
Why is the tr4sh fanbase so awful?
> Half of them refuse to acknowledge the existence of tiers and claim their game is perfectly balanced
> The other half that understands what a tier list is dickrides pro players
> Despite the first point, there has been a phase for almost every DLC character in which everyone bitches about them being OP and needed a nerf
> Acts as if their game is perfect and completely ignores the game's shortcomings
> Everyone bitched about the DLC characters being too expensive despite being slightly cheap for a fighter
> Their jokes are unfunny and just consist of spike montages and "Disrespect xD xD xD"
I seriously has never been in a fanbase as shitty as this one.
pic sorta related

>other fanbases get unnecessary hate because Smashfags keep whining about how X doesn't have enough reps
Name a single videogame fanbase that infects and detriments other fanbases.
I'm thinking about getting Tekken 7 on Steam. Is it considered a casual tier fighting game? And who is best character for a newbie player?
No
Jack, Paul, Lili, Law

Yes.
Akuma
Pretty far from it but you can still get into it in spite of the high learning curve.
