No, it just has her battle. In the first season, her side of the story is just as important as the fighting side; everything since then, it's just been a sidenote or irrelevant. The battles all actually moved the story forward rather than being inconclusive clashes until the finale, and likewise Chris's arc was an actual arc showcasing her changing feelings instead of FIS's complete non-development until, again, the finale hits and everything has to happen at once.

Yes, they're so low that a story that relies on gradual development and well-foreshadowed twists instead of HYPE cliffhangers that end up not being half as dramatic as they were built up to be, a villain being slowly changing and developing through the whole season, balancing both serious and dangerous elements with upbeat and fun ones, and a friendship / romance subplot that is both dramatic in itself as well as providing a metaphor for the themes of the show as a whole (made manifest when the sub and main plots eventually intertwine in order to resolve the subplot) ticks my boxes for "good".

Action plots need motive and resolution to make you care about the action. Not to mention action scenes themselves need stakes and tension. In the vein of movies like a Back to the Future or a Star Wars, with not a brilliant plot or whatever you expect, but with plot movements proceeding logically based on on-screen events S1 provided that. In the realm of a passionate story about pop idol superheroes and yuri context to all three main characters, it's one of the best achievements in yuri anime.

A key aspect of any action story is investment in the action, and G failed at that spectacularly with constant fights of little importance to the plot taking up time that desperately needed to be spent showing why the fights should matter to both the audience and the characters - especially to the villains, who were stuck in a total rut until the finale making them incredibly frustrating to watch. It's like a rollercoaster that's only ever at its highest possible point.

It does it far better than G, which largely replaces them all with fight scenes and letdown cliffhangers. FIS are stuck in the same cycle of worrying but not doing anything eternally, compared to Chris who changes with every episode. Every fight means something both to the development of the characters involved as well as to the story, rather than simply keeping the status quo until the finale. The themes are well-defined and directly approached by the characters in both the main and sub plots. What G has over it is flashiness - not much substance, but lots of flash.

Man, I really miss the camaraderie between these three.
Seeing as Miku has used up her screen time this season, the least I'm hoping for is more of them together.

I may be in the minority in this, but I really think they should lessen the screentime of the B-team this time around. Even that could work in theory, but I agree with you 2, it's better to have everyone bond naturally. And apparently they learned a bit from GX: So far in AXZ, whenever Chris looked sad Hibiki and Tsubasa at least looked like they got it. Hibiki just sort of looked sad at her and Tsubasa tried giving her autistic advice.
Which isn't much, but is better than GX with Hibiki either angsting the fuck out or stuck in a hospital for most of the second half while only Miku was there for her.
