Watched Granblue. Not out of any expectation of yuri or quality (and my lack of expectations didn't go un-unanswered), just because the season's starting and nothing's aired yet.

Superfluous protagonists really baffle me. Like, we could have had the story be about the knight of the evil empire who formed a bond with Lyria and so renounced her past to save her, and their escape and adventures together, but no, best be about a random guy who bumps into them after all of that and decides to help because of how nice he is instead.

And I'm not even saying that purely because of the yuri angle. Have the knight be a guy and it would still work better, because he'd be real connection to what's happening in the story. And it happens with so many shows. It's like the formula is to get all of the characters needed to actually make the story dynamic work, and then add a completely superfluous floating extra and make him inexplicably the main character.
