Right on cue (and conveniently new thread) I'm back. The third chapter of "The Angel and the Pilot" is done, and seeing as that went relatively well last time, I'd like to ask all of /u/ to proofread/beta it before I properly upload it.

A lot of this chapter was written while I was fighting a minor writer's block and/or late at night when I really should have been sleeping (as I should right now), so I really hope everything came out okay. (I'm probably being too hard on myself, but it's still better than the alternative.)

In about 24 hours I'm gonna turn off this link and make the proper upload to ao3. Thanks in advance for any constructive feedback.

Okay, I didn't find any typos by just reading, so I'll just list my thoughts here:

-you should try seperating the two scenes (where they start watching the movie and the scene ends with the next scene of Angela getting frustrated with her work) more, somehow. It got confusing with the sudden jump in time.
-the main action, is, how should I put it...Sometimes it feels kinda filler..ish? It's admirable the kind of research you put into your story, but instead of reading about the course of a Starcraft match I'd prefer the focus be on Hana and Mercy.
-Which brings me to my next point. It made me chuckle that last question you put on your draft

-from the technical point, your writing is pretty good! The only minor complaint I have is that you seem to overuse the word "rather" a lot. But that's minor
-Another, story related this time, thing I noticed is that you made Angela join Overwatch at 27 in your fic. Which now we know contradicts the canon, since she apparently did at something like 17. That's okay though since the fic pre-dates the revelation, but still.
-The plural form of "anime" is "anime"
-The story of Overwatch is supposed to be happening in something like 60 years into the future, which would make it 2076. So I don't think we have characters from the past millenium. Unless we don't know about it yet.

So I'll probably stick with my minor deviation from canon in this case to keep internal consistency.

I had somehow though OW was set around 2060, not 60 years ahead. Pretty sure there's no one from the last millennium around so far, and even if they were there's little chance they'd ever be playable. Unless it's a full cyborg/remote controlled body. Every Overwatch ship contains ample amounts of reaching. People who enjoy stirring the pot will point the numerous issues with whatever ship they want to fight with.

For WidowTracer it usually involves any mention of Gerard besides "lol he's dead" or pointing out that Widow and Tracer are very much trying to kill each other up until the last part of "Alive". Even then you could argue that Tracer stayed her hand out of shock and a need to understand why Widow would do such a thing, and that Widow spared Tracer because she preferred her to suffer because she's a cold hearted bitch like that. She definitely makes it a point to taunt Tracer and stick around to watch her reaction instead of fleeing the scene.

For Pharmercy pot stirring is almost always "it's only a gameplay thing". Which to be fair, it is entirely based on gameplay interactions. Recently people like to bait the Pharmercy people with Genji as well due to the new voice lines.

Every other ship has so far been too beneath the radar to bother messing with, at least on this board. Lore updates have a high chance of sparking shipping wars, for reference see the thread where Ana came out.

The reality of course is that officially speaking, Blizzard might come out and confirm one female character as lesbian, but they sure as hell won't go past that, if they even get that far, and once it happens this board will erupt in flames.

I kind of know where I want to go in the long run, but before that I think I'd like to do one or two chapters akin to the previous two. I.e. some relatively random slice-of-life-y scenes that serve to expand on the characters and their relationship; with such things as hints of their growing affection, people getting flustered/blushing, maybe a *minor* amount of angst, and perhaps even some terribly lewd handholding. Now that I think about it, that sounds like in idea; something like Hana meaning just a friendly, innocuous gesture and Angela construeing much more into it and getting all worked up over it for a moment (now I just need the circumstances). Also maybe for them to get outside the base for once, though I don't even know *where* the base is; Gibraltar I suppose.
