None of the other characters so far have a short of their own if you think about it. We usually calle Alive Widow's Short because it's mostly from her perspective. Same with Recall which is Winston's but has Reaper in it.
Oh and Dragon's is Hanzo's mostly, guest starring Genji.
And to be fair it's clearly because making a short for every character would be too costly.

She didn't lose it true, but at the same time we've only scratched the surface yet. We haven't gotten a comic that details how their relationship was indepth either though. Maybe we'll get some with the new one coming out today.
We know they had different ideas, Pharah wanted to fight, Ana wanted her to have a peaceful life, yet we don't really see any strain of that in their actual in-game dialogue. Either that or the voice actors did a shit job at it.
It would be better if Pharah has something going for her that's NOT connected to Ana in a way. Even her soldier career is deeply influenced by her. She literally says she got her tattoo to honor her mother.
I think actually putting Ana into the game did more harm to Pharah than good, because before that there was always the big speculation about them because of the mystery who Ana was. That mystery has been lost a little bit.

It's not that. Since OW doesn't have single player campaign, we're left to rely on random character interactions and backstories. Most OW agents are connected in one way or another, so: a) you can learn more about them through their interactions and b) a story about agent A might give some new info about agent B. Since Symmetra isn't connected to anyone, she would require material that focuses solely on her to develop her backstory, which means more work for writers, and it also means there will be no familiar faces, so people who aren't interested in Symmetra won't be interested in her stories, either.
