Really when you think about it, around half of all the marriages end in divorce, so there's just as big of a chance their marriage was shitty as there is that it was all sunshine and rainbows, no need to make Amelie into a psychopath all of a sudden.

That only confirms the fact that no one in Overwatch actually KNEW Amelie was brainwashed into killing her husband. Tracer's "why would you do this" and Ana's "Gerard was a fool to love you" only prove that in their eyes Amélie did all those things on her own account and out of her own free will.

They knew it was Talon who kidnapped her. She was turned into an assassin and an assassin knows how to play their part and how to adapt in order to fulfill their mission. She acted like the old Amelie long enough for people to not suspect anything being wrong or out of place.

All we know is that OW agents found her unharmed and none the worse for wear. More than likely Talon planted her at a place where they knew she'd be found purposely, but OW was unaware of the danger she posed, thinking that they had either gotten lucky, or that they outsmarted Talon and managed to rescue Amelie. She was most likely given a medical checkup and probably offered therapy, considering she was in Talon's clutches for 2 weeks, but OW wouldn't have had any reason to suspect that Amelie was now a sleeper agent and therefore they wouldn't have realized that she was brainwashed.

And that would be fair if they didn't know it was Talon and it wasn't specifically the wife of a man who survived several assassination attempts of their doing.

I find the fact they apparently believed she was kidnapped a second time but when she reappears as a Talon agent they just assume she was evil all along more ridiculous to be honest.

Though, it's interesting comparing Ana's and Tracer's reactions. Ana is completely unsurprised and accepts the idea of evil Amelie immediately, while Tracer shouts in Amelie's face how could she possibly do what she just did, and when Amelie laughs at her, Tracer does that shocked expression and slightly shakes her head with disbelief. Like what she is seeing is completely out of character and like she is just now realizing something isn't right with her.

I think that might be the case with her in general, how more than her being emotionless it's just that she was conditioned to thinking she feels nothing. Even when she clearly does. The monologue at the start and end sound like she is trying to reaffirm herself of what she's been taught despite the actual short creating a dissonance between her words and actions when we see she displays an array of emotions all the way through.
So yeah "bullshitting herself" is a good way to put it.
I wish the writers started exploring these characters already. Some of them might get interesting

It doesn't. It just looks weird due to the shadow. He's heavily scarred though. Hanzo's reaction was because he couldn't believe that was really Genji standing before him.
His arms and legs have been replaced though, no way Genji could do his zipping around that he does otherwise I'd assume. I'm also guessing torso got some serious replacements too, new lungs, but his heart his still his own by his own words.

Genji's whole deal was to come to terms with being half-man/half-machine and some people give him shit for that. I doubt cyberization as heavy as on him is common. I'm guessing he's also one of Mercy's (and possibly Torbjörn's, but I don't think they have any interactions) medical wonders because of that.

Seems rather pointless to me. What are you going to do with those guns, hit a character out of your range? That's what movement abilities and various ranged special attacks are supposed to achieve. And since guns can't be too powerful to avoid players just shooting at each other, they can't deal a lot of damage or have any potential to stagger/interrupt enemies. Only uses I can see are preventing your opponent from recharging his shield (if we're talking about Blazblue-esque combat system) or finishing off enemies with critical health, but it kinda nullifies the whole point of a fighting game – smacking your opponent in the face.

Noel's guns are a part of her kit. They're implemented in her combos, fighting style, unique to her, etc. Gun attacks also work like any other attack, meaning you can't continuously spam them, you need to press a button (or a combination of buttons) for each attack, which wouldn't mesh well with an ammo system. Aside from special attacks, her long range shots also consist of one single projectile with one single hitbox, not a continuous stream of small projectiles (which is how normal guns work).

So saying "there's that one character with guns in that fighting game, so it's okay" doesn't really work, especially when you consider that out of 21 characters in OW, 20 have a gun or a projectile weapon, 5 specialize in long/mid-range combat, 4 (not counting two more from the previous category) – in area control/denial, another 4 in being a major pain in the ass to enemy players, one needs teammates, one is a healer with no other utility, and almost nobody has abilities that would be useful in melee combat.
FPS characters can't be converted into fighting game characters without some serious changes to their playstyle, at which point they stop being the original characters.

Blizzard writers are at their best when they stick to minimalist storytelling. As soon as they zoom in and focus too much on telling a coherent story, they tend to lose sight on some of the fundamentals to try to simply achieve an "epic" plot. They'd have to hire some actual, talented writers first and foremost, at least to finetune and edit their work.

Until that happens I'll just hope they keep on churning out these short, light stories that hint at something bigger where we as the audience fill in the blanks.

It's the old "stylized over reality" argument. Her current get-up serves no practical purpose whatsoever. Even her past outfit looks like it has the boob window (Note the skintone through Ana's scope in the last panel there) though it aside from that and the pony tail it is a litter more realistic. Perhaps that was Talon's desert camo outfit?

Of course, the same comic shows the "greatest sniper in the world" shooting with her barrel out the window and using a cybernetic eye with 600x magnification, so realism is clearly not a priority here. Just roll with it.
