Anyone get genuinely creeped out watching Chet Desmond's final moments in the Fat Trout trailer park, before he reaches for the ring and the shot suddenly fades to black and he's never seen or heard from again?

Briggs is clearly alive when Hastings and his secretary visit him. He gives them thecorrectcoordinates, gets his head sliced off, it floats into space, etc.
His body was left behind, probably dropped and deposited by the woodsman. The ring in his stomach was either a clue left by the Fireman/White Lodge residents or an accident from the hurried ushering of his corpse.

Cooper is the dreamer. Blue Velvet is the model for Twin Peaks. At the end of BV, Kyle's character "Jeffery" (see the overlap?), is seen waking up from a nap in the backyard and it's hinted at that the whole movie was a dream. All of Twin Peaks is a dream of Cooper's. He might not even be "Cooper". He could still be Jeffery from Blue Velvet (where his girlfriend is played by Laura Dern). Also consider this, the town in Blue Velvet is called Lumberton. That's the whole focus of the town; sawing logs. A euphemism for sleeping.

I don't think so, because "Gordon Cole" was a random character name in Sunset Boulevard, the movie that was on when Dougie was eating cake. A dreaming Cooper (or Jeffery from BV) could have randomly picked that name for his dream world FBI director...
Can someone please give some examples of good stuff Frost wrote? In my mind, I just think of him as the guy who wrote the "James drives to that other town" arc in season 2, and as someone generally holding Lynch back.

>>86983745
Outside of Twin Peaks, I don't think he's really done anything notable.
>>86983801
But that's exactly what EVERYONE wanted. Instead we got 15 episodes of Lynch being "intentionally" mediocre. By the way I don't think Frost convinced Lynch not to use a 75$ camcorder, I don't think he has any say whatsoever on what Lynch chooses to record.

>>86983951
More proof; the pacing of TP season 3, the slow-ass pacing is also telling the viewer it's a dream. Robert Forester (Sheriff Truman) on working with Lynch in Mulholland Drive...
> on Mulholland Drive (2001)] In the very first scene that I shot, which was up on the hill at night, overlooking Los Angeles, I had huge lines of dialogue with somebody else, probably another cop. And after the first time we shoot it, [director] David Lynch says, "Do it slower." So I did it slower. Then he comes again at the end of the shot, and he says, "The next time we shoot it, do it slower." And I do it slower. And now I'm beginning to say to myself, "What is this guy doing?" Because I know what good timing sounds like, and I know what something coming out of my mouth ought to sound like, and I know what human back-and-forth should sound like, and this is beginning to sound different from that. It wasn't until months and months and months later that I realized that I was in a dream. It was not an actual event, but that I was in . . . I think it was the dream state of the girl who killed herself, but I'm still a little bit wobbly on how that movie works..
>>86984169
No, but I admit I've been a little undecided about how Lynch used it this season. The band motif got set up only to be subverted pretty quickly and then... not? It was like sometimes the Roadhouse functioned as a majorly significant bookend (NIN or No Stars, for instance), but then other times it was just to kind of set the mood like with the random characters discussing shit or drug dealing.
Anyway, I've ended up liking a lot of the non-music endings a lot more than the majority of performances we've seen so far (still think the first Chromatics appearance was the best, sue me). I'm sure some austitic redditor is going to write a theory about how all of the Roadhouse scenes have been alternate universes or someone's imagination though, if they haven't already. Regardless I'm hoping Julee Cruise knocks it out of the park in the finale.
>>86984273
Either that or she's in the white chamber of the ending of 2001 a Space Odyssey or in the holding area of THX-1138. Or maybe Audrey is the dreamer.
So is all Twin Peaks about Lynch trying to understand how electricity works?

99% sure it's not the Owl Cave ring. When she goes up to the bar before the dance you see a clear shot of it and it looks different.
>>86985120
>haven't been interested in the revival
Fuck you
>>86985126
Two more episodes bro
https://youtu.be/VKFzwtpRWnk
On the same day where literal capeshit was on with millions of zombies watching, we get true kino that can't be topped.
>>86984262
Last train to Lhasa always gets me moving.
>tfw that entire list of bad things Mr C did was true and then some
>>86985141
How the fuck did those bullets penetrate the car? Is Lynch totally incopmetent?
diane's doppel getting turned into the gold sphere in the lodge was amazing. those effects were so off-putting.
thank you lynchy
>>86985176
They didn't. They showed the inside of the car when it was being shot. The only ones that got through were through the windows.
>>86985160
Both next week. Only seven days left.
>I AM the FBI.
Oh yeah, I think Coop is back.
>>86985176
.22 bullets can punch through a front car door
I don't doubt nine milometer bullets can go through a rape van's back door.
>>86984907
I'm pretty sure it's been shown more than three times since it began in FWWM.
>>86985120
just cuz you said that, no
>>86985176
even .22 goes straight through car doors
https://youtu.be/lkYBd9p3b8M?t=46s
that was 9mm
>>86985198
Then how do you explain the bullet holes?
>>86984923
>>86984760
>sets up chantal and hutch watching dougie house
>sets up FBI watching
oh shit they gon fight
>sets up the mitchum brothers, who we know are tough cookies
OH SHIT CANDIE DONT GET HURT, THIS IS GOING TO BE NUTS
>the coolest pollack ever finished the job and it was all self defense because chantal ran out of cheetos
two misdirects, and it pays off blissfully.
lynch is a fucking god
i've said this almost every thread like a dork but i STILL cannot believe how good it is.
>mfw Deputy Andy is actually the Dreamer
>>86985126
I would prefer a new song of the same calibre
Holy shit this scene was so fucking tense, I genuinely thought Cole would get murdered.
I have to say,I absolutely love that the scene showed an inner struggle within Diane, she wasn't just some evil doppelganger, but there's still two sides to her battling it, it's not as black and white as you'd think.
It makes me think that Cooper is still inside of BadCoop, not strong enough to influence him. Everything about Dougie, how familiar Coop was with it, the tulpas, the ring, giving his hair to MIKE. It just screams of him having outsmarted BadCoop, he manufactured Dougie thinking he would get the upperhand in the switchover but it only bit him in the ass.
>>86984923
>Michael can you show us why they call you Horse?
>>86985176
A plastic piece of crap car like that would have bullets pass right through it.
>>86985263
Also acceptable. It's got to be her though.
>>86985224
>Watch the episode
>there are 3 quick cuts
>>86985270
She's not a doppleganger, she's a manufactured tulpa like Dougie was. The real Diane is either dead, or trapped in the black lodge.
>>86982801
>>86985270
yeah I thought she either gonna shoot cole or herself
>>86984907
There are also 7s and 8s repeated too though
Are the cheesy 90s-style CG VFX intentional on Lynch's part?
I mean the sky vortexes and the floating flame spirit things look really bad.
>>86985270
>implying Lynch would ever kill off himself
This is the 2nd best credit sequence behind Dougie and the statue. Such a fucking moody outro, I cannot think of a better to lead into the finale.
It was so reminiscent of the ending to Episode 3 of the original show, which had TMFAP dancing, it even looks similar even though it is digital, there's such a texture to the composition of the shot.
>>86983585
Is Lynch making fun of the obvious Honeycomb product placement in The Sopranos?
So ... what is Phillip Jeffries doing locked in a room and inside a giant teapot in the what I'm presuming is the black lodge?
And why a giant teapot specifically. We've seen the "white lodge" with the fireman and that fat lady is full of those teapot devices.
>>86984841
She's going to get electrocuted on the same stone where Richard died, that's the only explanation I can think of to his clue.
>>86985391
nah, they were awesome.
>>86982620
I agree. It was jarring at first, like "huh this doesn't feel like Twin Peaks" but now I can't imagine it any other way
>>86985361
>I thought the message ALL meant, "kill all the Blue Rose agents"
>>86985321
Imagine if Rodge tried to be like Coop instead of pretending to be Anakin. He'd be drowning in pussay.
>>86985391
they're intentional for sure
you can see other parts of the show where they actually put effort into the cgi and other effects
>>86985310
Season 3 has made no mention of Doppelgangers though, which leads me to believe that they've been retconned into the Tulpas we have here.
>>86985411
Because David Bowie died and it's the easiest thing to do to get around that.
>>86985151
>>86985230
You know what I deserve that.
>>86985391
Obviously, Diane's final scene was stop motion.
>>86985446
tulpa's the same thing, just another word for it
>>86985245
>self defense
That excuse became invalid the minute he started shooting at the car from behind. The reload made it ten times worse, legally, from his point of view.
>>86985431
I think she gave him not full number/coordinates because she struggled until the end
>>86985408
is lynch developing kino product placement?
>>86984062
>>86984150
Also Beerfest and Dune
>>86985391
They look awesome.
I mean what's more magical than something completely unrealistic?
So im friends with dudes who run a streaming site, setting up a full encore of the return, will post when the time is right.
Only one more week fellas, but we'll have these 18 hours forever.
>>86985467
People have hard lives dude
Holy fuck. I've always thought this new series was good, but I had problems with it. With every episode, each one of those problems makes sense and it alleviated.
>>86984442
>Freddie fulfills his destiny
Is Bad Coop gonna get knocked the tuck out or what?
>>86985411
David Bowie died before Lynch could film any scenes with him, and reconstructing his likeness with computer graphics (as opposed to just recycling existing footage) would be in poor taste, so he did the typical Lynchian thing and transplanted his character's spirit and voice into an inanimate object.
Does anyone know if they'll be releasing The Return in a physical form someday? Or a "Completer Complete Mystery" set?

>he locks her in another dimension!
>>86985582
Of course they're going to. Wouldn't be surprised if they advertise it after the finale next week.
>>86985567
Not memeing, shit like this is why Lynch is a true fucking artist. Sometimes you have to work with the challenges you are given. Creativity is not always ideal, in fact, it's often better if conditions are not perfect. Otherwise he'd be checking off a laundry list of things to do and we'd get some hack fraud doing their best David Bowie impression.

She probably loved the chance to go out with her character. She's got the fucking log on her gravestone and kept the original log for 25 years.
