But like, even at his most fun I can't really ever say "oh, I like what he did as the doctor there". Take survival of the fittest from the klein story:Massive fun, giant bugs and mccoy's great for who he is in the story, playing it with an earnest go. McCoy just kind of phoning it in is fine because the plot is fine and the context is strong enough that it benefits from him underplaying the doctor here.

But never once during the story did I say during that story "This is a great doctor who story". Its certainly a great story, and mccoy is playing the part really well and everything comes together well; but its not a good doctor who story. Something's wrong I just can't quite put my finger on, and I'm convinced its mccoy. Especially since McGann works with the same set pieces in Klein's story and it works beautifully.

This is the same coat but roughed up
at best it's ultra dark navy blue, but it may as well be black with a slight blue tint (because there is no such thing as a true black garment, if you've ever worn multiple pieces of black clothes at once you can see the subtle differences in hue between them)
