well, allow me to rephrase, the show doesn't confirm all these thing you/that anon listed.

Some of his/your point seemed to have the reasoning "He's cut from the show so most likely his plot isn't every important!", but Theon's plot is literally non-existant on the show, yet he thought him still being alive on the show means he doesn't get killed by Stannis. Why, if he has zero plot on the show? Maybe he does get killed by Stannis and they just let him live (with zero plot) on the show.

I mean it's etiher that, or they entirely cut Theon's plot despite keeping him alive for no reason?


Also, on a side note... lots of characters are merged and taking each others story. Tyrion and Varys aren't Dany supporters in the books, they're Aegon supporter. Ok maybe not Tyrion, he might end up with Dany anyway, but Varys is definitely with Aegon.

So, is Varys suddenly gonna change side after grooming him for command for fucking 17 years? Or is Dany merged with Aegon?
Because if it's the latter... Then how can you be so sure that you know "The main characters"? Maybe Aegon becomes a main character but they completely shifted that to Dany on the show instead of even introducing him, so Dany winning on the show doesn'T prove Dany winning in the books, it might be AEgon winning, and so on.

Same thing with Jon/Stannis for example.
Jon basically stole the entire Stannis plot in S6(well, aside from being resurrected or did he? :^) ).

I've been rereading ASOS and I had a thought, not sure if it was theorized about or what, but...
Anyone think Mance Rayder could've murdered Benjen Stark?

In the Jon/Mance discussion, Mance tells Jon he went to Winterfell for 2 things
1) Take a look at Robert Baratheon, whom he describes at "the other king" (he may have to fight him some day if he successfully cross the wall)
2) Take a look at Benjen Stark (he describes him as "the bane of his people").

So Mance went to WF about at the same time as Benjen, give or a take a few days, doesn't matter.. but more importantly, they left about at the same time, to go back to the wall/north of the wall.

Making all this trip just to look at them for no reason? What if he went there to plan to just murder him? The NW is weak as fuck, Mance knows it (both as enemy, and as a former NW member). Taking out the best man in a 50k strong army doesn't mean much, but taking out the best man of a 300 strong army is huge. (Mormont says only 1/3 of the watch are fighters).

I haven,t given much thought on his trip on my first read, but now I definitely think there was more purpose that he's telling Jon.
If he wasn't there (like some - Preston - theorized) to set up trouble between the great houses of Westeros... I'd say he probably went there to get rid of Benjen.
Either way he would've tried to killed Benjen or Bran. Obviously could not tell as much to Jon, in either case.

From this point it's not that much more info to learn about Benjen going too.
One might think they'd feel more conflicted about telling NW stuff, but if they're talking to wildlings they're probably not big NW loyalists anyway. And just passingly mentioning someone is going there doesn't seem as big a deal when you don't know they might try to do something about it (which they probably didn't suppose, because if you think some wildling is a NW murderer, why would they be talking to them in the first place).

If Roose lets everybody stay as they are, they'll fragment even further into murderous factions and weaken the siege from within by picking each other off: Game Over.

If he sends the most dangerous out into the snow, they may side with Stannis or die: Game Over.

Either he's left with too few to defend the walls, or Stannis gains more numbers quite directly. If he keeps the worst with him and puts them on lockdown, his whole army can't be an effective defensive force against Stannis and the troublemakers may still try killing him and others: Game Over.

If he sends a mix of supporters and dangerous tools outside to fake surrender to Stannis, they may achieve something — or, more likely, get caught thanks to teeth-clenched teamwork not working: Game Over.

If he's found a way out of this by picking the snowdrifts and being creative with who he sent outside, it'll be fun to see.

All in all, general winter has not been kind to either him or Stannis by arriving when he did.

I have been thinking about a lot of characters and events that may happen in TWOW.

How ironic will it be if Littlefinger is killed by Lady Stoneheart, the only woman he has ever loved and who he indirectly put through hell due to his actions.

This might be how it will go down. They will end up duking it out in the middle of a battle, but with dramatic irony. We will know who is fighting who, but they will have no idea. It's quite a good idea actually. Whether or not it could be pulled off though is a tough one. I can understand Robert being a mindless Zombie who isn't really "Gregor" anymore not knowing who he is and what the importance of their fight is. But I would find it hard to believe that word of a giant man that clings to Cersei would not go around and him being identified as The Mountain. Likewise, how Sandor would not recognise his proportions and technique right away. I could be wrong about that very last part though, since I don't know if the books will state that there is any real difference in battle between Robert and The Mountain.
