Personally, I would say, yes, it's IRRELEVANT. One really couldn't say why a person of whatever race is or isn't casted, or placed into a certain type of role or not. Said casting or lack of can be read positively or negatively... which is just the thing: there's no right way to read it, so choosing to always make a racism complaint is dishonest and forced.

Like, are we never supposed to have black women play prostitutes now? Do we have to tiptoe around them, and only cast them in dignified, noble depictions? Or is it that you just want them put in other roles too? Why thogh? What does it fucking matter? Not ever part of every society is this even distribution of people from every background. To portray otherwise is forced and unrealistic, and most actually inspired artists like Lynch have better things to consider than racial "representation" when they're crafting a story.

I have no stake in this, I personally don't care about representation, it doesn't affect my enjoyment nor does it offend me, nor do I wish the cast had more colored people. He's old school, I don't have a problem with it, but I wouldn't blame anyone that did, as long as they didn't let that completely cloud their opinion, and that clearly wasn't the case in either of these reviews/articles.
