Judy?
Literally nobody watches those ending songs
If third post then Sunny Jim gets killed.
When Coop finally wakes up Janey-E is going to think he is *even more* nuts than he is right now. He's going to tell her he's Special Agent Dale Cooper and she's going to be so confused and upset that she'll try and have him put away because he's clearly gone mad.

I just started with The Secret Story of TP, and damn, it's better than I expected. This kind of stuff with native americans and so on remind me of the Lovecraft of "The case of Charles Dexter Ward". I really liked when Lewis talks about experiencing stuff with "the energy that B. Franklin discovered" around what I assume is the Black Lodge.
>>83837330
It just seemed that way because of the obvious weight difference.
Some fuckers were sure Coop will snap out of it this episode. What's your excuse, faggots?

I love that scene more and more every time I see it. Not even because of the scene itself. But because it had to survive all the way from the idea phase all the way to being broadcast on national TV.
Imagine either Lynch or Frost pitching that idea to the other, the brainstorming, the fine-tuning... all the way to the casting and shooting. Lynch trying to get him to run just the right way. Trying to get the perfect reaction to the ice pick bending.
To be a fly on the wall.
tw; rape mentions etc
...
I'm somebody who gets INCREDIBLY annoyed at the presentation of leland within the TV series and I was wondering whether anybody feels the same way.
I find, especially with his death scene, the writers totally neutralise the molestation and awful treatment of laura by totally implying he was unable to control his actions. who the fuck wanted leland to 'step into the light' yknow?
I mean sure lynch has his problematic aspects in his work as kind of a running theme, but god with fire walk with me I really felt like he was trying to make up for the disgusting turn the series took with trying to make leland totally innocent. so kudos to him for that.
anybody feel the same way?

There's a lot of stuff that looks weird on a technical level. The car explosion being one of them.
But the one scene I got really confused about was in episode 4 where Cole and Albert are talking in what is supposed to be night. Its obviously recorded during the day, with a disgusting blue filter over the whole scene. They keep filming the sky, which is a rookie mistake when trying to turn something you've recorded during the day into night.
It feels a bit pretentious to speculate that Lynch is doing it on purpose, but I can't see any other reason.
Give me an episode of any "comedy" show this year that was funnier than Part 6. This was scene after scene of great moments.

>woman yelling at man

So showtime wanted all the episodes to be released simultaneously. But lynch said "no, no, air them weekly I like it more like that"
Then he went ahead and filmed 18 hours of slow paced, seemingly incoherent scenes and told us it was made to be watched all together, like a movie and he didn't really plan the episodes as standalones?

You can say that literally about any episode to misconstrue it in a way where it seems like nothing happens. But things seem to be moving pretty well to me considering how many characters are being followed through their own narratives/new ones interconnecting with current narratives.
Hawk found Laura Palmers diary notes, furthering his investigation. Richard Horne is in dealings with Balthazar Getty who's selling drugs that don't even seem to be cocaine, also he's a raging psychotic who perhaps lives in the same trailer park as Harry Dean Stanton, pepperings of clues alluding to Coopers past to regain his memory whilst being guided by the lodge.
Meanwhile this midget guy who seems to work for these people after Dougie kills the woman who fucked up handling the situation and he's gonna go after him next, setting up an unpredictable next episode considering Coop's mental state with a psychotic midget with an icepick is after him.
It's not that hard to ascertain this shit, to say nothing happens in an episode means you're not paying attention.

I noticed it too.

Bowie's going to show up next episode and make 25 years worth of shit come out of Cooper's ass which will wake him up
>>83838288
>ywn eat her huckleberry muffin
what would trigger Cooper's wakeup??
>>83838348
Diane
>>83837911
that's true, at least look in your side view mirror before you send a kid to a horrible death
>>83838348
Coffee didn't do shit
I'm thinking maybe, just fucking maybe he'll wake up before the midget gets a chance to stab him to death
>>83838348
>>83838356
No, Diane is there to prove to the FBI agents that Bad Coop is actually not the real Coop.
As for Good Coop, he will probably need to return to the Red Room and recover the golden pearl before he "wakes up".
>>83837268
Fug it's perfect.
Is Coop retarded because he went into the body of a doppelganger of a doppelganger, rather than the OG doppelganger?
Or because it's been a long time and going into either would make him retarded?
>>83838379
I mean, he should have, but I think it's also understandable not to expect a huge truck to be careening down the wrong lane.
>>83838419
He's in his own body. They went some lengths to clarify this. Put your phone down sometime.
>>83837945
of course the network had some say but you have to remember lynch was already a highly respected film director when he did twin peaks which was pretty much unprecedented at the time. i'm sure they gave him more creative freedom than they would a normal person making their first television show.
>>83837520
Twin Peaks has always fucked up the geography.
Neither FWWM nor the original Series ever made sense geographically.

Imagine watching a 2 hour film and stopping every 10 minutes, then waiting a whole week to see another 10.
This is how this feels.
I'm not saying it's bad, but the way it's written almost goes against the way it's televised.
One of the best things about television as a storytelling platform is it's weekly format, and there's a lot that you can take advantage with to make that storytelling better. Unfortunately, Lynch doesn't really take advantage of it, and we're seeing the disjointed first act of a film in unsatisfying bits and pieces.
Again, not saying it's bad, it's still enjoyable as fuck and the plot is finally kicking into high-gear, but I completely understand people that are turned off by the way things are going. They'll prolly enjoy it a lot more when it's all done and it can be binge-watched.
Also, Coop is confirmed for returning next week when he sees a crazy dwarf doing wacky shit?
>>83837557
Leo got his ass kicked by Hank.
Then Hank went all pussy when he realized he couldn't take on Thomas Eckhardt's henchman.
>>83838515
>Imagine watching a 2 hour film and stopping every 10 minutes, then waiting a whole week to see another 10.
And before you can stop it, you have to put up with a song each time which adds literally nothing to the plot.
>>83837341
In episode 5 I thought it was taking too long without much happening, the last episode though I was fully engrossed in the Dougie plot, the bonding with Sonny Jim was great, and the boss going full PROMOTIONS was great too.
And with the addition of Vin Diesel/Joe Rogan/Mini Me and his hilarious rap song coming to try and kill him I'm incredibly anxious to see the next episode.

>>83838533

>>83838102

>>83838557
Lynch kind of does do exactly that actually because he could splice anything into the scene.
but who was actually in the truck? what did lynch mean by this?
>>83838533
You're right, they should just have a black silent screen while the credits scroll by instead.
>>83838209
she's had 1 scene in 6 episodes. i doubt it.
>>83838572
Fair point
>>83838533
but the songs are good tho

>>83838479

>>83838577

>>83838603
No, in fact this general genuinely believes Lynch is adding things for a 'watercooler moment', but who the fuck is even talking about this show, the ratings are abysmal.
And this isn't me making a comment on the quality of the season at all.
>>83838607
Sure, but "having to put up" implies going through something that you don't want.
I've watched the credits in every episode not because I'm waiting for a scene or something, but because the songs are legit good.
>>83838607
Except for one episode they've all been during the credits. They aren't taking away story time.
>>83838666
episode 1 standalone had the gramaphone scraching
/ourgirl
>>83838256
m8, not everyone watched the first two seasons for the first time when series 3 was announced ago so they could pretend to be into twin peaks with the cool kids, like you did m8.
>>83838628
that's because she was dead.
The music at the end of each episode is embarrassing, none of the bands even fit the show nor the area it's set, why would these hipster bands go to some backwater shithole bar
>>83838643
I find them flat-out boring, I don't see the need for them to take place every single week, and as I said before Lynch pretty much does force you to watch them because he could just put in Cooper sitting on the side of the stage or some other random bullshit.
>>83838744
because david lynch asked them to
This season has some absolute kino establishing shots, wish they were a bit more common.
>>83838725
Kek, nice projecting, but sadly for you completely false. Try harder.
i remember somebody on here said he was going to murder lynch if the new season didn't end with laura palmer's photo at the end of the credits.
as far as i now lynch is still alive though.
>>83838797
That's because that person got Spiked by Ike
>>83838744

Who the FUCK eats a sandwich at like 10pm?

>>83838835
i'm glad someone noticed they used the same shot twice.
and then when it shows her downstairs while coop is sitting with sonny jim she still has half her sandwich left. we've seen her biting into half a sandwich two times, 5 minutes have passed, and somehow she still has one half untouched and the one she's eating isn't even gone yet. im nitpicking pathetic details and it feels so good.
>>83838630
That's what I thought, but people will just gang up on you with LYNCHED memes if you dare point that out, even though it has nothing to do with the quality of the show

>>83838957
It's a common /tv/ insult/rebuttal, but it exists for a reason. It wouldn't be used so much if it didn't have basis in reality.
>>83837711
Fuck your "everything at once at our fingertips" bullshit grandma.
Yeah, the pacing would/will be fine when they're all released.
Watching what's effectivelf an 18-hour movie once a week over several months completely fucks how the pacing feels.
>Diane isn't real, they said
>>83839048
So the "problem" isn't with the product, it's with the release method. Why doesn't everyone that complains just wait until the finale and binge it?

The same stupid bullshit that faux-afficionado twonks have been using to apologize for hack writing since the last episode of The Sopranos.
